Bill,
I am going to Results in Chasmbersburg. I get a discount since my wife works at the Hospital. James, I prefer working out at home. The gym is crowded and it makes it impossible to do circuit training as written. I am not one of those smiling social people when I work out. I want to get in and out.
Yesterday:
Leg Press: 1 x 20 x 129.5
2 x 15 x 187
Chest Press 1 x 20 x 70
2 x 15 x 85
Leg Curl 3 x 20 x 63.5
Underhand Lat Pull 1 x 20 x 63.5
2 x 15 x 77.5
Leg Extensions 2 x 20 x 55
1 x 15 x 60
Lat Raise 1 x 20 x 12
2 x 17 x 15
Step Ups 3 x 15 x BW
DB BO Rows 1 x 20 x 35
2 x 15 x 45
Crunch 3 x 20
Back AExtension 3 x 10
I could do more back extensions, but I have to get used to the feeling on my leg. Gym was crowded and it made it difficult to do my circuits.
Today: Bike 5 minute warmup
4 x 30/90 intervals
5 minute cool downs.
Fell yesterday so I am pretty sore today.

How are you doing after your fall? I fell down part of the stairs at work today. Fortunately, I wasn't hurt. I think my ego was hurt more than anything else. You are a strong man and I admire your courage. They gym isn't the best place to do your workouts, but you are getting them done. You are overcoming. This is a very admirable characteristic.
You don't have to be a smiling person when you workout. Honestly, I worry about those guys... something doesn't ever sit right with me.......

Sorry I haven't been consistently checking in. I don't have my computer connection so I have to make do. Mostly, I use my Dad's computer right now. Anyway:
Saturday I did my final Phase I of TAdvantage. I didn't progress so much, but I did finish. On Sunday, I did two bouts of 20 minutes of steady state cardio on a treadmill.
Monday, I did a set of intervals. 5 minute warm up and 4 sessions of 30/90 intervals on an exercycle followed by a cool down. I did 20 minutes of steady state in the evening on a treadmill.
Tuesday I wanted to start Phase II of T Advantage, but the gym wasn't cooperating. I did the following:
Warmup on the treadmill for 10 minutes.
Flat DB Bench Press 3 x 15 x 40
Leg Press 1 x 190 x 12
1 x 210 x 12
1 x 230 x 12
Bent Over Rows 3 x 12 x 40
Step Ups 3 x BW x 10
Concentration Curls 3 x 25 x 15
Curl Ups 3 x 20
Hip Extension 3 x 15
Wednesday I had job interview, OVR appointment and banking so I didn't get anything done.
Thursday: TAdvantage Phase II Workout A

Broken Connection, I'll try again.
Thursday: T Advantage Phase II
Barbell Bench Press : 1 x 10 x 95
(feet up) 2 x 10 x 115
Machine Row: 1 x 90 x 10
2 x 105 x 10
Lat Pulldown: 3 x 94.5 x 10
Seated DB Shoulder Press 3 x 30 x 10
EZ Bar Lying Triceps Ext: 3 x 55 x 10
DB Concentration Curl: 3 x 20 x 10
DB External Rotation 2 x 8 x 10
Swiss Ball Crunch 2 x 20
I slipped when I was returning DBs to their place. The folks there were right on top of it. I guess they are aware of me and I understand it, but it makes me feel self conscious.

The diet is going okay. Ihad two major slips. Both after my wife called. She is being very nice, but I just don't know how to handle it yet. Obviously, breaking my diet solves nothing.

TA Phase II, Workout A:
Barbell Bench Press: 1 x 8 x 115
(feet on bench) 2 x 8 x 120
Cable Row: 1 x 12 x 100
2 x 12 x 120
Lat Pulldown 1 x 12 x 69
1 x 12 x 103.5
1 x 10 x 103.5
Shoulder Press DB 3 x 8 x 30
Lying Triceps Extension 1 x 12 x 35
2 x 10 x 40
Preacher Curl 1 x 12 x 30
2 x 12 x 45
DB External Rotation 1 x 12 x 7
1 x 12 x 10
Swiss Ball Crunch 1 x 15
1 x 12
NuStep 20 minutes at level 5.
I have to do bench presses with my feet up because my right leg draws off the floor when I lift causing imbalance.
I had an embarassing struggle with the swiss ball. On my second set of crunches, the ball rolled forward and my leg rolled under the ball and popped off! I had to right myself and put my leg back on and then lift myself off the floor. I figured since I had already embarassed myself, I might as well finish up and so I did the Nustep for twenty minutes. Fun!

Woke up in a crappy mood so I took my crappy mood to the gym.
TA Phase 2, Workout B
Leg Press: 1 x 200 x 12
2 x 235 x 12
Leg Curl 2 x 46 x 12 left leg, right leg
1 x 46 x 7 left leg, 1 x 46 x 5 right leg
Leg Extension 3 x 12 x 40 left leg, 2 x 12 x 30 right leg.
Superman 3 x 12
Step Ups 3 x BW x 15
Squat 1 x BW x 20
2 x 25 x 12
Reverse Crunch 3 x 20
Nu Step 20 minutes before and after workout.
I talked to Doug, the trainer who runs Results about doing deadlifts with my butt just touching the wall when I am leaned all the way over to pick up weights to secure my balance. He wasn't loving that. However, he suggested King Deadlifts. I did these out of the hospital when I did not have my prosthesis and occasionally with prostheses but got away from them. I like the idea though and may try to fit them into my workout.
My prothesis worked loose during leg extension. I may have to get it adjusted. I did have to stop doing my third set of leg extensions with my right leg.

I don't know how many times I have done this. What's even more interesting is when I consider how many times I SHOULD HAVE DONE THIS!! You are doing Rowdy Awesome, Greg. Your numbers tell me you are growing stronger in body and as I can see from some of your comments, your mind is strengthening too. What, if anything are you strengthening your spirit with? Rock on Greg, Rock on...

James,
After things get bad enough, they get funny. I am starting to get interviews from my job hunt and things are beginning to happen. I am keeping an open mind because things may go in a way that I never considered.
I have had the person I loved most give up on me, but I find I am somewhat relieved. She was so angry and disapproved of me so much. She decided that I liked the way things were going, without thinking of the process. Progress is rarely a linear thing. Anyway, that leaves me sad but relieved.
My leg is bothering me. Yesterday I had phantom pain. I used narcotics when I got out of the hospital but I am not using them now. It just gets very unpleasant. I think that I need an adjustment on my leg. The leg irritates the nerves and stirs up phantom pain. I tried to use the treadmill, but its a no go for today. Tomorrow is upper body which should not irritate it and I am calling my leg man.
