I heard a little report on the radio last night about an RA treatment using turmeric. I didn't hear all that much, but it sounded promising in the news story. Unfortunately, I can't find the news story, itself. But a google visit showed that it's been used for a long time, around the world.
Here is a page I found that talks about some foods and how they might effect RA. Not sure I agree with their vegetarian statements. I'd guess that vegetarians have better results because they eat more veggies, not because they eat less meat (acid/base balance again (you know me)).

yAy for Fish oil. Mine don't tast liek anything. Sometimes I do get the fish burps, though.
Funny, it took me 2 minutes to get through Boston security at the airport. My flight was horrible, as well.

LD...I will read up on the turmeric. I have heard about red meats being bad for RA. Which I hardly eat anyway. But I do still eat chicken, and pork occasionally.
Tony....nice penis lines!!

TG you inspire me! Id book you as a PT any day once you are qualified!
I reckon when ya get there you should write a book on your training and struggles, my ex wife has MS, and I know quite a few people who have this. Not the same as RA I know but similar limiting factors, many want to train but cant get the support or advice they need to do so as people are too afraid to train them due to insurance/litigation.
SO any first hand thoughts and issues you have identified from your training/diet etc that effect your performance you have could be well received

Aww...thank you so much! I'd love to write eventually. I need some practice and guidance though when the time comes. My sister has MS so she is dealing with that as well
Thanks for the kind words.

TG, just noticed that you are taking the NSCA-CPT exam in February ... I'm taking it on January 20th (just south of Boston) ... my study materials should be here by Friday ... I'm so excited! I'm sure I'll have questions, so it will be great to have someone to bounce them off of ...

That's great Julie! I haven't actually signed up for the exam yet but my plan is Feb since it is in a city close to me at that time. I want to make sure I feel completely ready. Once I get through the next few weeks, I'll sign up. I'm definitely getting more studying in by going to the library. PM me anytime..we can chat about it

I'm still here! Getting ready to start a new program..woohoo...so I'm excited. I am also going to start using fitday again. After listing my food out and seeing it on paper..ugh! I need to keep track and make some changes! So I will post the link to my journal in here so I can hold myself a bit more responsible for my intake.
Galya, if you are reading this, do the NSCA CD's get less boring? I don't know if it's the voice or the content, but when I listen to them, I fall asleep..literally! I'm still listening to the first few so maybe they will get better as I go along.

Thought I'd better check in. Justin and I have been sick last night and today with a stomach virus. So I've been in bed all day We'll see how tomorrow goes.
