Default The Husband Project Log

So.
First day of the Log. Wednesday September 6th
Diet: Casein for breakfast, including 4 gelcaps fishoil, 2 multivitamins, 2 calcium pills, and a serving of Greens+. Lunch was 4 scrambled eggs with bacon/ham and some cheese on top. Afternoon snack was 2 Kitty Litter Sticks (Milko eats some sort of beefsticks that look like they come from my cats litterbox.... taste great but... ). Dinner was a plate of Turkish minced meat with ground beef, eggplant, peppers and yogurt. I had the equivalent of a 1/4 slice of bread too, since I wanted to try something that someone else got (damn good too!).

Worked out today as well.
Exercises, unless marked, are always 3 sets of 8, and that will continue pretty much throughout my log (I am old fashioned in that I guess) until I change it later.
I will also post in Kilograms rather than Pounds, simply because that is what I work with here, and dont want to have to do the math every time .
Also, before I catch a LOT of flak, I am pretty much right now following what I like and want to do 1-2 workouts a week. Not very scientific, I know, but it keeps me interested, and right now, at the beginning, pretty much ANYTHING I do is going to give me results. The other workouts I am following what Galya and I came up with together. It is a good mix of want and necessity, enough to keep my interest up.

Pull ups:4, then 2 then 1 (4 is a personal best btw)
Shoulder raise/DB tricep extensions Hybrid: 12.5kg
DB Box Squats: 70kg (35 per arm)
Calf Raises: BW at 3 sets of 15 per leg
Shoulder Lat Raises: 12.5
Bench Press: Set 1: 60x6, Set 2: 80x5, Set 3: 70x6

That was just about it for today, because we had to go to a dinner, and I was feeling worn out (long hours working as actor and casting the other film again), but I felt like I got a good workout. Now, the interesting thing is that I, pretty much as a rule, don't bench press. The last time I BP'd was approx 2 years ago, and my max was about 55 kgs due to the fact that my shoulders are severly damaged (they dislocate very easily, without any pain, and whenever I want them to, actually, when I don't want them to as well!). The fact that I was able to do 80kgs, even though I failed on the 6th rep, was ASTOUNDING to me. It really showed me some of my progress. I like it.

Hey Jonas! There's nothing wrong with not following a pre-made routine... like you said, as long as you enjoy it and keep making progress, that's all that matters.

Are you doing any rotator cuff work to sturdy up your shoulder?

No cardio day for Jonas. It's past 10 p.m. and he's still working. He is so mad though, I am sure he expended thousands of calories of frustration. Hang in there KB, the movie will be over soon!

Damn. I really really wanted to get two cardio sessions today in, not one, and it turns out that I was only able to do a grand total of zero. I got up at 9 (after being zonked out by the Z.M.A. I took) and left the house by 10 (part of that time was working, too) Had my usual Casein and Greens+ and pills breakfast, and then I left.
Got to work at 10:10. It is now 11:00 (13 hours later) and I am still here, with not a real end in sight (I hope I get out by 12:00). Galya is right, though, that I am a little furious, so I am probably expending thousands of calories an hour. I had chicken and pork and some chicken wings for lunch, a dinner snack of Muscle Milk and I am looking forward to a suprise dinner which Galya has ready for me when I get home.
Tommorow will be better I hope.

Sorry for the hiatus. Yesterday, worked again, but this time at 6:00 told them that I was leaving... and did.
Did a 40 minute bike session at home while Galya did cardio in the other room. Went 23 km's in 40 minutes, compared to last weeks 19, so I felt pretty good about that.
Ate pretty well too. Started out with Casein, as usual, then followed by some cooked ground beef with some cheese on it. Omelet for dinner.
Today, I had to take out the AD and the 2nd AD out to shop for clothes and essentials. Walked around nonstop for about 4 hours (that is a kind of cardio, right?) Had Casein for breakfast, sausages/meat for lunch, yogurt/protein for a pre dinner snack, and I haven't gotten to dinner yet. Tommorow I go work out with Gal. I like doing that a lot actually. I mean when we can go by ourselves and she doesn't have to worry about clients. Anyhow, feeling stronger and noticing further changes. More tommorow night.

When that director leaves, I am having a party. What a #$%$##%$^$ these last few days have been. Tell him to buy you a weight set at work.

Yesterday and today, I crashed. I mean, HARD. It is a weird feeling. As if my body was waiting for things to get to a point where it could afford it and BAM. Kind of strange. I spent all day yesterday sick, layed in bed a lot. Then, couldnt sleep. got about 1 hour last night, woke up this morning in a foul mood (hehe) and then got a little better and Gal and I went out to do all of the administrative stuff for a while (and there was a LOT of it). Tonight, got home, and really don't remember much about coming back. I was in zombie mode, laid down for a nap, and figured that I would get up and go to the gym. SUPRISE! 4 hours later, I am woken up by Gal (who had to go train some people) and I have a BLARING headache.
Tommorow, I really don't care if I catch jungle rot and a few fingers drop off, I am going to the gym. I am starting to feel bad (mentally and physically) by not going.
More to come later...

I am bummed too that you haven't been feeling good and worked like a madman. I am proud that your food intake has been stable and good and that you haven't used it as an excuse to make bad choices. You should be drinking more water but apart from that you are at 99% of what I expect from my best clients. I expect to see you in the studio tomorrow.

You looked like a zombie when you came in to work out today. I am glad you pushed and did it. It's also the first time in your life that I can remember you choosing a workout yourself and being excited about it. Tell us

So you're Galya's husband? You're not Bulgarian though (from the location), I see?

Yup, I'm Galya's husband, and nope, I'm not Bulgarian. A good ole corn fed redneck here yall. No, seriously, I'm from Indianapolis, Indiana, and I originally came here in the Peace Corps.
I AM feeling better, thanks for asking LD, and it suprised the hell out of me that I could be affected like that. Usually doesn't creep up on me. But yes, I am. I was tired as hell, and didn't sleep much the night before, but before I did anything today, I got up and went to the gym. I think Gal almost had a heart attack seeing me there before noon
I started the Superhero workout from the t-nation article written about how to gain 20 lbs of hollywood muscle. Kind of cliche, I know, considering my job, but I looked at the program, and, for some reason, it REALLY appealed to me. But I don't want to go into too much detail, since it will be in week 6. I just sent Kevin the combined weeks 4 and 5, so it should be up tommorow hopefully.....
And cappy? I will tell the story in the next post. Promise

Hang in there, bro.

It won't always be smooth sailing and the workouts won't always be optimal, or any good at all for that matter. Sometimes, what you need to do is just show up and stick to the process.
