Floats and choke are sticking, and the 4 barrell won't open. I got a bonus on my last paycheck, and was hoping to buy an olypic weight set... guess I'll be getting a new carb instead.

Flying solo again today. Late workout... started at 8:30 pm. The gym was fairly empty, which was nice. Just enough eyecandy to distract me though. Pullups felt good, but they're definitely getting harder with my new found bodyweight. Hang cleans felt awesome! Shoulders were smoked afterwards.
I'm taking this week off from lifting, and will get back at it next weekend. During the week, I'll be doing some hill sprints and some assisted sprints. Need to work on my speed a little bit.

I have a feeling you and Milk are copying me, I take a week off and then both of you follow suit! Now if only I could copy your numbers, then I'd be set!
Good work, enjoy the week off.

First workout after the week off... I sabatoged myself last night. Went clubbing, drank a lot, and didn't get home until after 2am. Got up at 7, couldn't eat cuz my stomach was rebelling, but I did manage to drink a little over a quart of milk. Got to the gym around 8:30, cuz I had 2 clients this morning, then started my workout about 10:15... sucked down a shake, but was shakey all workout. Wasn't able to go as heavy as I wanted. Guess that'll learn me! Went to the Chinese buffet after the workout, and now I feel better. Finally got my new carb, so I'ma go put that on now.

Dude I'm surprised you lifted anything with the night you had. I would be lying on the floor with the BB crushing my chest if I tried setting a Squat PR after 5 hrs of drunken sleep...

Awesome work, Steve. Your squat and dead numbers are impressive. So you are doing personal training on the side now? How cool is that?

Good workout today. Wasn't feeling particular strong until after the first set of 205 on bench. I've been doing them PL style lately and prolly coulda got the elusive 250 today, but decided 245 was good. The PL style definitely helps, but today was the first time I've gone heavy with them... it takes a lot of focus to keep the shoulder blades pulled back, back arched, narrower grip with elbows in. I figure with a bit more practice, the weight should go up. Hang cleans felt awesome! Had to go a little deep on the catch for 165, but if felt great! The press took some effort, but got it. Shoulders are smoked!

Ah nice work! Powerlifting style is definitely the way to go, I just feel much more powerful with my elbows tucked and my shoulder blades back, primed to push.
Those hang cleans are big! How deep are we talking before the catch?

Not real deep, maybe a 4-6 inch drop on the lighter ones... 6-8 inch drop on the 165 attempt. I guess they'd be power hang cleans, since I'm not doing the front squat portion.

8/22/06 - Full body, IPV day
Foam roller, dynamic stretching, mobility
*Workout*
Squats
3x20x155
Deads
1x15x155
1x12x155
1x20x155
Pulldowns
3x20x100
BB bench
3x20x115
Oh. My. God. This workout HURT!! I wanted to do 3x20 on deads, but my lower back was getting beaten up on the first 2 sets. Last set, I really focused on each rep and was able to get thru it. Every part of my body hurt when I was done, from my calves all the way up to my neck. AWESOME!!
