i can see what you're saying. But i remember seeing pictures of donnie when he was relatively lean. He put on fat, but also put on a crapload of muscle to get where he is now. You look at someone like lewis, and you would barely be able to tell that he lifts if you see him on the street. Strap some tight gear on him, combined with his rom, and the non-consitant judging, and you have a WR. It's just bullshit when you see someone who has had athletic abilities with some fat lose WRs to people who are a big mac away from a heart attack.

just my 2 cents.

7-29-06:

Hip Mobility

GHRs:
bwx8
bw+10x5
bw+20x5
bwx20 (this was hard)

Seated DB Power Cleans: 20x12x3

Purple Face Pulls: 2x20

Shrugs:
185x8
205x5x3

Leg Raises:
bwx10x2

another incredably hot day. It was again humid and around 100 with the heat index. I planned on doing some *gasp* cardio as well, but it was too hot. I guess i'll just plan on doing some treadmill walking when i get back to school, and can use the gym.

I agree with you 100%. I know we argued over at the forum about this, I think, but I think Powerlifting would make it further if people had less bodyfat. I guess more like strongman. Like i said over there, we are a visual people and to me watching someone like Cardoza or the BIG guys lift (becca's camp in Nebraska) is a lot more impressive then some big fat dude lifting. Granted the guys from Big were probably on some anabolics it was still WAY more fun watching the just because they were fricking jacked like you wouldn't believe.

There is weight classes. There is not going to be many fat people that powerlift and weigh 240lbs or less.

Fat powerlifters is the sports smallest problem. What it really needs is a set of rules that everyone follows and for the gear debate to be settled.

Good points. I still think that having some sort of rule regarding BF or something would do the sport good (and the competitors themselves). And the gear issues is the whole reason why I've gotten away from wanting to do any sort of powerlifting...unless it's in some sort of RAW meet.

I used to think the same way about gear. But if your strong without gear your strong with it. Nobody is forcing you to wear it. I think the weight class stuff is good enough. Most powerlifters arnt fat. There are a few, but its a stereotype.

if you set a rule by BF%, you would be opening a whole other can of worms.

i'm about 6'3" so 225 isn't too big for my size. 240s would probably make me happier.

Thanks. That's what stuffing your face every day does for you. ha

Accutane killed me years back. Severe dehydration. Careful with that junk! Proactiv works like a charm and is side-effect free.

I have the same problem when I'm sweating a lot, but not that bad. Just take off your shirt more...that seems to help. Also a loufa (SP?) helps as well.

It's been crazy hot the last few days. Heat index placed it at 109
