Default Mike Mazz Training Log

Ok let's see...I have probably about 6 months of working out total. It usually works out like 1 month on 2-3 months off, so everytime I start back up I feel like I'm starting from scratch. I joined a gym about 2 months ago and started going consistantly for a month and then hurt my back and took 2-3 weeks off. I've been back for 2-3 weeks consistantly now and I'm going to keep it up!

My Stats:
31 year old male.
6' about 168 lbs.

I figure maybe some measurements will be a good way to track progress:
wrist : 6.75"
forearm: 11.5"
bicep: 13.5"
chest: 39"
waist: 33"
quad: 22.5"
calves: 14" maybe 14.25"

My workout:
full body 5x5 (M W F). When I get up to 5x7 I bump up the weight and go back to 5x5. I'll probably be changing this up in a month or so, we'll see.

yesterdays workout, if I can remember
5/10/06:
FULL squats: 5x5 @ 220 lbs.
chinups (worked in with squats): 5x6 bodyweight

dips (first time trying my dipping belt): 5x5 with 25 lb. plate

1 arm bent over rows: 5x5 @ 65 lbs.

db bench press: 5x5 @ 55 lbs.

deads: 5x5 @ 255 (I did 5x3 at 300 the other day using straps, but that was the first exercise and first time trying straps)

I guess that's about it. I try to take in a min of 3200 Cal. of fairly clean food, but I've been bad at keeping track of that. I usually get about 5+ servings of fruits and veggies and I take a multivitamin, fish oil caps, and vitamin C.

I guess that's it.

Your log name "MikeMazz" caught my eye... I (indirectly) know a Mike Mazzola... then I see you're from MA too... but I think you are too young to be the same guy. You're not a drummer by any chance, are you?

Either way, welcome to the boards!

Pretty good start there. I like the look of those squats, especially.

Thanks Mahler. I'm sure I could go heavier, but I don't feel like stalling and having to drop the weights onto the safty bars...seem like it would be a little embarissing.

Yea those squat numbers look very good. I'll be watching your progress, so make it impressive... or at least lie about it

I haven't updated this thing in a while, so I thought I'd throw some newer stats out there.

Deadlift: pulled 405 on 2 seperate occations, with straps though. 385 without.
Chinups: 2 with 75 lbs
Dips: 2 with 100 lbs
DB benchpress: 5 x 6 @ 70 lbs (my worst exercise)
1 arm dumbell snatch: 6 x 4 @ 75 lbs

I also took some new measurements to see if I've made any difference.

weight still hovering around 170-174.
bicep: 14.25"
forearm: 12.25"
chest: 42"
quad: 23.5"
calf: 15"
wrist: 7"
waist: 34"
