Good luck this weekend, Danny!!

Wish I'd known about the Mogehan Sun contest. That's only 60 miles from my house and I would have driven down. Next year.....

Rox - They will probably have it next year...this was year number 2 of having it there. This year it was kind of a start to the Worlds Strongest Man.

Danny - They have a thread at Marundes place about the event. Was a killer event, but also some killer injuries. Svend retired I believe, Hugo blew his knee out and Magnus had a bad back. Top 3 were Pudz, Jesse (at a BW of 280) and Thigpen (think this was a surprise, but not 100% sure). I'm sure Jesse will post up more once he gets back in Washington.

Wow, I haven't updated in a while. I have been working crazy hours at a new job and that has been the real focus, so life has been very crazy for me the last two weeks. It is finally settling down into a semi-normal schedule so I should be able to get back to the computer and logging more often.

To anyone who has PMed me in the last week or two - I am not ignoring you, I just have had no time to play around on the internet. I will get to it soon.

Since my contest (it went great, there is a thread in the training section if you missed it) I have just aimed at maintaining strength while busy at work. Next contest is in two weeks, so as long as I don't get weaker/injured I should be good to go.

Workouts have been total body 2-3 times per week. Nothing special so I am not logging actual workouts.

I plan to start a new feature in my workout log and that is called: What I "Learned" at work today! The " " around learned are because I work witha big group of retards. For people who don't know I just got a job through Lifetime fitness as a personal trainer. Its great for me for now because they are a huge club so the money potential is way higher. Buuuuut.....They are filled and staffed with retards. Its unreal. All the cardio is long steady state stuff based off heart rate zones. So without further ado:

What I "learned" today at work!

-To get a bicep peak you need to supinate your arm more on curls
-Forced reps and drop sets are an advanced technique aimed at gaining strength
-Training in your specific heart rate zones will train the body to burn more fat and then you won't crave sugar.
-Spending 10 minutes working a clients "balance" on an exercise ball or core board is a good use of time but flexibility and myofacial release at the end of a session isn't.

FUCK!

Danny

Kuri - I am trying my best to keep an open mind. I know that I don't know everything, and I know that a lot of people here can teach me stuff. It just gets frustrating when my superiors at work are preaching things to me and other new trainers that are so obviously wrong. Another huge one that I just thought of is the Core. Everyone at work talks about the "core" being just the low back and abs. I want to scream. For those who don't know, the core is everything from the hips to the neck. Its about a billion muscles, not just two. Training the core involves a lot more than just ab strengthening and an exercise ball.

Kuri - What time is the concert? I work late right now but if I could make it I would definatly go.

Danny

Good to see you post again. Job will hopefully get better for you. Once your clients start to show better gains than the other trainers I suspect that you'll have people coming to you for advice. Keep your head up and don't get discouraged!

hmm, guess my sarcasm didn't come across. Was joking Danny. I know you know more than 99.8% of those morons.

I shake my head in disbelief at what I see most trainers have people doing at my gym.

RE the concert the main acts probably go on around 11 or so. Let Adam or I know if you can come through. It'll be a good show.
