Talking Weapons of Mass Construction

A new log!!! And, it's about time, too! I'm really psyched about this one. Well, as psyched as one can be while nursing a 10-day migraine. Hopefully the "knock it on its ass" shot my doc's going to give me later today will knock both me and my migraine on our respective asses. Here's hoping!

Anyway, I'm looking for some mass to stem the tide of LBM loss I suffered while changing over to some new meds back in Feb/March. I really need to regain that weight mass. I'm looking and feeling awfully scrawny!

I got my first workout in last night and here's my results:

A1) 3-board bench press: 3x8 (3-0-1) with 180. I could increase this weight next week, but probably not by too much. I did struggle on the last rep of the last set.
A2) DB ext. rotation: 3x10 (2-0-1) with 15. This was a good weight and I might be able to take this up to 20.
B1) DB triple position press: 3x8 (2-0-1) with 30. By the time I got to the end of these, this weight was pretty damn good. I could try 35's next week, though for a nice challenge.
B2) Narrow-grip BB row: 3x10 (2-0-1) with 90. Staring that triple position press in the face I kinda chickened out on this and went too light. I really need to up this weight next week.
C1) Close-grip DB press: 3x12 (2-0-1) with 40. I could have gone with 45's or even 50's on these, but I have been off or going light for a while and didn't want to push it the first week back.
C2) DB row: 3x12 (2-0-1) with 50. Once again, far too light. I should have tried at least 60's.

Regardless, I'm feeling very good today and quite sore. I'm surprised that my shoulders aren't painful today after the triple position press -- I went very steep on the first position almost turning it into a DB military press. Yeah, they're sore, but it's all muscle soreness, not impingement pain. Otherwise, it felt great to get back in the gym and toss around some heavy weights. There was only one downside -- my migraine pain did spike for about 20 minutes afterwards to the point that I lost vision in my left eye. Oh well. It eventually subsided to low rumble and I got to my meds relatively quickly and that quieted it the rest of the way.

Looking forward to the new log, Jamie. Good going. (I won't say more on the migraine thing ... done that already! )

Thanks for the props gang! Unfortunately, I'm giving in to the pain and taking up my doc's offer to give me a shot to try and knock this thing on its ass. I'll seriously be out like a light in 30 minutes.

Go for it, my friend.
Kick ass in the gym and kick that migrane in the ass, as well.
