Keep up the good work Steve. Where is your bodybuilding competition? And is this a new thing for you?

I'm doing a weightlifting comp, not bodybuilding. I don't think I could EVER get in front of a bunch of people in a banana hammock!

I got in on the weightlifting comp last year for Corporate Challenge at work. I was the smallest guy there (169 pounds) and put up the lightest weight (185). This year, I'm hoping to get 250-255 up at 180 pounds.

Chinups - 3x10xBW
Dips - 3x15xBW
Hanging leg raises - 3x10
Monkey bars - 3 trips across and back
Went down the twisty slide - 5 reps
Climbed the chains on the swing set 4 times.

4/24/06

DB bench - 1x12x120, 2x6x160, 1x1x200
Pullup/chinup - 3x10xBW
DB military press - 1x12x70, 2x8x100
Dips - 3x12xBW

I felt pretty strong today, but that last bench zapped my energy. I bet it took 7-8 seconds to get those bad boys up.

May 13th. Once that's done, I think I'm gonna switch my routine up and work my legs more frequently to get them caught up.

Only a few more weeks till May 13! You'll be ready, no doubt. Which CC team are you on? I'm not competing but I'm at UMB, so I know a bunch of people doing CC (mainly the bowlers and horseshoe throwers).

Thanks Bill, I sure hope I'm ready! I'm with BCBSKC, devision B. I'm actually the coordinator for horseshoes this year.

4/25/06 - Cardio stuff today... kinda...

Jumped rope - 2 minute rounds x 4
Beat up the heavy bag - 10 minutes
Swiss ball crunches - 2x35
Swiss ball pushups (feet on ball) - 2x25

I looked super spiffy in my white shoes and black socks today. At least my socks matched my wifebeater...

Black wifebeaters seem to be turning up everywhere these days; I guess I missed the photo spread in the fashion section of MH! But hey, if they match the socks, then you're coordinated!
