Well me and Jennmedic have been PMing back and forth about starting HGM. We have decided to take the plunge on 3/20/06. We will both be posting our food and workout routines in this log. I am excited to give HGM another go. I had awesome results a couple years ago when I completed this program in the footsteps of Mahler, Lefty, Bond and I think Howie. Can't wait to get started four days till blast off!!!

Good deal Jenn. Are you going to take the rest of the week off? I think I am going to do some HIIT on the punching bag this evening.

I was wondering how long it was going to take you to chime in. I think she is a long long way from Alabama so no naughty stuff for us. What do you think of the calorie cycling that is at the start of this log?

Got better towards end of week and ya blew it on the last day he he

Sorry

whilst it will lose ya weight to get that added push you have to keep the body guessing but not in a state of confusion. Tis a fine balancing act, as I said try and keep a constant for a week then drop it one week raise it the next

This is going to be fun. Good luck with HGM, guys. It's an awesome program. Chris, I did the program in '04 which would be the year after you did it, and then just redid Iron Manual in Jan/Feb of this year. Wow, did that bring back some ugly memories! Do you really remember what you're getting yourself into?? I thought not..... LOL

There's lots of us on the board that have done the program so there's loads of advice if you need it along the way.

Oh, and being Canadian ..... GO CANUCKCHICK GO, GO CANUCKCHICK GO!!!!!!

Thanks for the support guys and gals. BFG I figured you were going to say something like that. I am going to stick with it for a week and then revaluate if need be.
K I remember what a bitch phase one is. How could one forget?? What program did you switch to after you completed it? U S A U S A

Dave we will be completing the entire routine front to back. I can't wait until phase 4 rolls around. When I first did it I didn't really enjoy training legs but know I actually look forward to it. It is kind of funny how things turn out. The idea to do HGM again came from one of Craig's emails that was titled what I would do if I were you. It saids to drop what your doing and go back to the routine that worked the best for you. For me that is HGM followed by TT in close second. I recommend it to somebody in another post and Jenn PM me aboout it. The rest is in the works.

1 week wont tell ya alot at least try what you are suggesting for 3 weeks at least you should get a mean of the weight loss then and then you can try what I suggested and can compare the two to see what suits you and your activity best. At the end of the day you dont wanna be hitting so low you feel energyless with the routine you are going to embark on

Your right I won't be able to tell much in a week. I will keep it up for three weeks then will switch it up if things are going as expected. Your right about crashing and burning. I think if I ate 5000 calories per day I still might crash after Irom Manual.

well again thinks back to the post I put up for newbies you need to ask yourself this:

1) what is your goal....if its weight loss then:

2)what is the best training plan to meet my goal
3)what calorie intake do I need to do this plan and to achieve my goal and 4)what level of hydration do I need.

The problem is if you are not achieving item 1 how will you know which variable is not working and it could all be very much hit and miss otherwise as to the level of outcome. Through the very routine itself you could push yourself low on the calorie deficit or vice versa.

Just giving you food for thought here nothing more.............I know you will achieve and will get the results you want in the long term. What action and symbiotic (I love that word) plan of attack you use will determine how and when you will get there

Nice post man. I am really just looking to lose about 2-3% body fat and sit at 10% or a little less steadily. I in to experimenting so the calorie cycle is an experiment in progress. I am sure I will hit my goal with ease. I am dedicated to this and failure is not an option.

Woah go Jenn this is gonna be one helluva interesting thread you is one brave boy tossed My ego couldnt be doing with being whopped by Jenn (and she does already %body weight to lift wise!) Think its only fair we have starting stats and piccys for both as long as tossed doesnt start modeling bikinis at the end........................... ..

Hmmmm now a thought OK you two how about this: when your stats are in how about setting eachother a forfeit for the loser ie the winner is the one who achieves the biggest overall change in % thats both weight progression & body fat lost?????? Send your forfeits throught via private to JP and ask him to monitor

mawhahahhahahaha am feeling evil tonight can ya tell by these posts and other ones! (Its cos I aint been getting any this week cos me lads staying with me!)
