OK I got a confession to make. I ate food last night. I had some pizza. I am pretty pissed off at myself but am back on the diet today. T otry and compensate for this as much as possible I did 30 minutes of HIIT this morning almost to the point where I passed out from exaustion. Now that I am going back to school on saturday I think it will be alot easier for me to follow the diet and have no temptations at all.

I got in the last 5 tubs of Grow today, 4 strawberry, 1 chocolate, and 1 tub of surge. Now I got everything I need and am set for the next 4 weeks.

Please scold me for cracking. I didn't last time on the diet. So i deserve it all.

Don't sweat it. Have you listened to Shugart's interview on D-Tap? Check it out. It's relevent. It's the one where HE gets interviewed.

Also, don't make up for mistakes the next day. Mess up, move on. You didn't gain weight, you just didn't lose as much in that period. Period.

At any given time, your body is in caloric deficit or surplus. A greater deficit today has nothing to do with the surplus from yesterday. In fact, don't even eat smaller on the same day that you mess up. Each 3-4 hour period is standalone. You messed up one meal. Big whoop.

Kevin

Both these tough guys are scolding you well you asked for it. Listen you wimpy little worm you have been eating nothing but liquid for the past couple of weeks and you are going to piss it all away for a lousy crappy peice of pizza?! Get your head out of your butt and get with the program!

Or better yet, just give up.

No more whinning- have some liquid lunch and shut your mouth (around pizza that is)

Hope that helps

I am sad to report I am off the diet and done with it. here is what happened:

On thursday I was having some chest pain that stayed for a few hours and then nausea. I couldn't eat or even drink a shake. I work up, still same feeling and really couldn't sleep. Decided to call the doctor. I did, went in at 8am. I told him the diet that I was doing and he said most likely the symptoms are coming from the radical diet. Also my BP was up as well. So I we decided I must go back on a regular diet. So thats the end of the V-Diet.

I am feeling better now that I got some oatmeal in me. But since I am off the diet I am going back to Get Lean Without Dieting workout for the next month.

Sorry guys, my body wasn't agreeing.

Dude,

The diet's an way to easily keep you on track. Low calories, low carb. It's doesn't have to be so low on either. Bump up the calories, add some carbs to it. Eat an apple with 1/2 the shakes. You'll still be low calorie.

Sounds more like stress to me. The diet may not be right for you. May stress you out.

Another way is to make up a menu that you know you can stick with every day. Eat the exact same things for each day. It can be whatever macros and/or cals you want. Keep it simple.

The Velocity Diet feels wrong to some people. The stress of knowing you can't eat is a bit much at first.

Of course, a Doctor is going to tell you to stop. If you described Adam's Diet or The 7 Habits, he'd probably tell you to stop, too. Just not so vociferously.

Don't be so hard on yourself. Find something that works for you and don't beat yourself up. We need you in good spirits for the podcasts, damnit!

LD, this is why I love your posts.

I know doctors in general will think half the people on the boards are crazy for some of the diet's and workouts we do. But still I didn't feel right after more than a week. I like the GLWOD workout by Chad Waterbury and I can still follow JB's lean eating rules and feel good in the process.

Don't worry I promise to always be in good spirits for the podcast. I am very excited still and am becoming a pro with Garage band for the Mac.

O ya and I ate a huge salad today, romaine lettus, cucumbers, and NO DRESSING. I HATE THE TASTE OF DRESSING!!! Aren't I lucky??

Also I can go back to playing 5 on 5 B-ball which is important to me

For example:

VERY IMPORTANT

-Basketball

-Boston Celtics

-Breathing

-Sleeping

Not Important

Make sense? Maybe JP can implement bar graph option in the next forum update.

I'm not a big fan of dressing, either. I use salsa though. Mashed up avocado is good, too. Or, both.

I have yet to try avocado's in the 20 years I have lived on earth. Maybe I should give them a shot. They always looked kind of gross to me.

Do they taste like anything??

They kind of have a bland taste. I actually bit into the skin like an bitting an apple one time. That was nasty so make sure you peel it. My only complaint is that the ones I had went bad pretty quickly.

Tossed--I guess you think about that. Avocados are a part of life here. You cut them in half, around the pit, remove the pit, then scoop them out of the skin with a spoon. Or lightly slice the halves down to the inside of the skin, then gently squeeze them out into slices. Hard to describe.

To keep them longer, get them to the point where they are almost ripe, then stick them in a paper bag in the fridge. Still only last a few days, though. Only buy what you plan to eat soon.

Kevin--Avocados have a buttery, creamy texture. Somewhat bland taste, but damned good. Have you never had guacamole? I was in Boston last year and had guacamole there.
