Sort of. I'm taking next semester off for the internship and will finish all but one class for my undergrad this spring/summer. That class is only offered during the fall and winter semesters. So to take its place, I'll start my MSA classes during the summer. I''l wrap my undergrad up a year from now while continuing on with my graduate coursework.

Ah. The registrar's office is going to have fun when they do your credit audit. Good thing you're doing undergrad and grad with the same school.

So does this mean you'll get time to lift now?

yeah, no kidding. I'd definitely lose something if I had to transfer.

Stay tuned! Lifting and running coming back to my log very soon!

Man my legs felt fresh for some reason. Oh, yeah. I hadn't run since Saturday. Still, it's not quite fun running through snow and on ice in the pitch dark.

Wow, it's been awhile since I read your log. Are you feeling better after the fall? Your last entry would suggest so, but wondering all the same...

Actually, I was stretching tonight and felt a twinge in my hip area. I'm really disappointed. It's got to be because of my lack of lifting.

I'm noticing the same thing - I have a little pet injury - the hip/ITB irritation I was facing before the marathon. I stopped foam rolling after MCM and it's still there. I never really had any persistent running injuries when I was lifting at least 2x weekly. But when I cut out the regular squats and deads - boom.

I was thinking my deal was an ITB thing, too. I need to get better. Laura wants to start training together again.

That's more of a horizontal press, right? I don't think ITB irritation will be an issue.

Very slow, but enjoyable. It is quite cold and windy. The "feels like" was 11 this morning. Plus we got about 6 inches of snow last night. I just decided that I was going to enjoy the run. And I did.

I'm very pleased with this run. Especially for the fact that it was run in the dark, on the sides of busy streets because the sidewalks were icy and snowy. I am just waiting to get hit by a car.

I'm a bit late but congrats on finishing up your semester. When does the internship start?

BTW -- It looks like you're coming back into running conditioning nicely.

Thanks, Jeff! It didn't go as well as I would have liked, but it's done. I finish my current internship this Friday and start the next on January 2.

As far as the running, I'm pretty well rested because I haven't done much lately, and very well-carbed up due to all the candy and crap at work!

I'm actually very excited about my upcoming running. I spent last evening with my former and soon-to-be again training partner, Laura. We were discussing and laying out her training plan for Boston. She would like me to play a big role in reaching her goal. (Dave, I may be hitting you up for some tips on the course). So, right now I'm pretty pumped. I am going to go into this all out; it will be tough with work, but I know I can do it. I'm also setting a pretty aggressive goal for my goal race in May. We'll see how it all shakes out- it should be a lot of fun.

Sounds good to have some new goals developing! It's much easier to stay motivated with a goal to work for - no question about that.

I haven't been checking out the logs much due to the snow and the shopping season but it looks like the finals went well and you get some new training goals as well. Good luck and enjoy that semester off. I have always liked working better than school.

Thanks, guys. I'm very excited about it.Training with Laura is going to be great motivation. She's very excited about it, too.

Gregg, finals didn't go as well as I would've liked. But I passed and I'm ready to move on to the next thing.
