Your running seems to be coming along nicely! Any plans to get back to the gym?

Yes, Dave, you guys are evil incarnate- especially at the end of the semester. The thing is, the project I was working on was totally volunteer. It was for school but not for a class.

Jeff, I really want to get back the gym. I just find it so much easier (and enjoyable) to lace up the shoes and head out. With my busy schedule, I really need to sit down and come up with a comprehensive run/lift plan- one that will get me a PR in the River Bank Run 25K in May.

3.54 mile run
27:48 (7:51 avg pace)

I slept through my first class so did this this morning before work. It was a good run- except it was 23 degrees at 8:30 AM. That made it really feel like I was going a lot slower than I actually ended up doing.

Lift consistently - run fast. I'll do your lifting if you take care of my miles.

27 degrees, 30 mph winds, and snow. Yuck. I stopped at NAPA on the way home so I also had to carry two quarts of oil the last mile or so.

Thanks for the offer for advice. I appreciate that and will definitely keep you in mind. What do you do? Last I knew you were working at a hotel.

For the record, I didn't run tonight. I worked on a school project and did some studying most of the day. Then I watched the end of the NASCAR race. Now I'm enjoying a Guinness before bed. 3 or 4 miles are on the schedule for tomorrow.
Late reply again, I suck. I do Sarbanes Oxley compliance work. It's basically your job without the liability It's just as painful, but I do it as an independent contractor, so I'm not required to be here 97 hours a week - I can work as much or as little as I want to. The hotel job was my attempt to rebel from office boredom, but alas, the larger paycheck has won for now. I do it independently as well so I can make a clean break whenever I want to - like maybe to start a catering company...

I hope you enjoy it more than I do. The money is fantastic, but the lifestyle blows. I just do it while I have to, but it's not a bad fallback!

Eric, I'm doing a lot of SOX compliance control testing in my internal audit internship right now.

I had to go into school to meet my group to work on another project so I figured I'd run in downtown GR today. It was a nice change of pace. Now I have a paper to write for Monday.

BTW, I topped 50 miles last month (first month since August). I hope I can get close to 100 this month (last time was also August).

I like it. I'm learning something new everyday, so that's cool. I'm looking forward to trying out tax, though.

I ran in my screw shoes. I really need to make a new pair with fewer miles on them. Ever since this run my left hip has been bothering me.

The town of Allendale, MI, needs to break out the salt and sand. Shit, this was another ice skating outing. This time without my screw shoes. I should have just just run on the indoor track.

Hells bells, the town of Sparta needs to break out it's salt and sand, as well. I busted my ass big time today. My shoulder and forearm are pretty sore, and I have a huge bruise on my ass. My left hip is still sore, too. Ever since I ran in the screw shoes last weekend it's been bothering me. I need to get my ass in the gym. I'm sure that's why I can't stay injury free.

Ouch!

Maybe you didn't see the ice because your mind was drifiting to your trivia rivalry with LisaS.
