Dude, you're fast and all. But if Bill Rodgers was still in your age group, he'd have smoked you

He still did, 25 years older than me! It was pretty cool to see him chugging along.

15MAY07
scheduled: 8 miles easy
actual: 8 miles trail
1:20:15 (10:02 avg pace)
------------------------
Ignoring my increasing paranoia of hurting myself (due to tapering) I went for a trail run. I was going to take it real easy on the pace but it turns out the terrain forced me to even if I had wanted to go faster. My legs are kind of dead too. Good fun, though! I can't wait for the marathon to be over with so I can hit the gym hard again and run trails more often.

Crazy gym chick will be at the marathon so I have to go incognito.
And speaking of the marathon, the madness begins:

Nice pictures. You look pretty comfortable in the first one. Actually you look like you're walking! In the second one I think that old man is giving you the ol' stinky eye.
Enjoy the taper.

Thanks, Jeff. I practically was walking in the first one. That was taken right around the halfway point just before I started to pick it up.

I got them on sale. 2/$19.99. I've had them for 3 years. Worth every penny.

Conflicting weather reports for next weekend:

Accuweather says rain on Friday, weather.com is calling for it to come on Saturday.

That was a solid 25k, and good runs afterwards.
And I passed Hal Higdon during my first Indy Half-Marathon (not the Mini, the one in the fall.) Granted, it looked like he was in his 80s now, but his performance wasn't inspiring faith in his training plans.
Conflicting weather reports for next weekend? You're screwed. Enjoy taper madness.
