Thanks, guys. She called tonight. I was at school. It was so good just to hear her voice on the machine. I miss her more than I've ever missed anyone.
-------------------------------
Time to catch up the past couple days:
16APR07
scheduled: 8 miles w/vO2
actual: 4.34 miles
35:06 (8:05 avg pace)
I was waiting on Asia's call but she didn't so I hit the road hoping to go over to the track at the high school. They had a track meet going on. So, that combined with being anxious about missing Asia's call, and the fact that it was SO FREAKING WINDY out, I just cut it short and went home. I'll get my speedwork in on Saturday with the race.
-------------------------
17APR07
sceduled: 11 mile easy run
actual: 11.11 miles
1:29:13 (8:02 avg pace)
One of those days I felt like I could run forever.
Tomorrow: 8 miles

That's great Twins. I really hope you get to talk to her soon.

Thanks, everyone.
18APR07
scheduled: rest
actual: 8 miles
1:04:02 (8:00 avg pace)
Indoor track easy run. Another day I could have run forever. My schedule is all jumbled up with Saturday's race. I'll take tomorrow off and then run 4 very easy on Friday. I'm going to have to get in 5 after the race and 5 more on Sunday to get all the mileage in for the week. We'll see how that goes.
I think all these miles must be paying off. I can't believe how good I feel. I'm not even feeling that general fatigue or soreness I had been experiencing just last month. Maybe with the crap with my ex coming to an end (and knowing my daughter is okay) has taken a lot of stress away. Maybe it's because I've sworn off crazy gym chick again (for good, I hope ) or because I've gotten to see my friend Laura a couple times in the past few days. Maybe it's because the semester is almost done and most all papers and projects are in and I just have to worry about exams. Maybe it's a combination of everything.
Whatever it is I'm feeling pretty good.

Asia called tonight and I got to talk to her. It was weird, almost like she didn't want to talk. She seemed okay otherwise.

Glad to hear things are starting to get better - hang in. Based on watching this happening in the past hanging in helps. Not easy.

At least you got to talk with her and start a dialogue again. As time goes by and she gets to spend time with you again she will understand how much you love and care about her. Kids are pretty felixible and much more intelligent than most people think. By the end of the next visit you have with her things will be back to normal.

Its good to see everything is calming down for ya twin (school and life). Especially with being able to talk to your daughter again. I cant imagine how bad not being able to just hear their voice can be for a parent.

I'm glad the planets are finally aligning for you. You certainly have paid your dues.
Its not really surprising that Asia was a little awkward on the phone, is it? She is old enough to understand at some level what is going on with your ex and may even feel a little responsible, even though, I'm sure to you that seems ridiculous. As Gregg said, kids are flexible and will come back around quickly.

Jim, very good that you were able to talk to her! Maybe she is just a little shell-shocked from what's happened. I agree with the others - kids are very resilient and bounce right back.
