Hey guys, thanks. I'm definitely sore this morning in a different way than after a long run. I kind of missed this DOMS. lol
GG- Just give up on the weights and run all the time. Not only will lifting get more difficult and running easier, if you're like me, you'll put on weight, lose muscle, and generally not like the way you look in the mirror. lol Keep up with what you're doing. You've made some awesome progress.

I hear you on the DOMS thing. I'm into the second week of the NROL break-in and last week I was very sore. It's gotten much better the second week for me and with the way you are able to crank out the miles I'm sure you'll adjust very quickly to the workouts.

gobbla- Appreciate it. Time wasn't really an issue. I have so much more now that my mileage is cut way back. It was just so much easier to throw on the shoes and hit the road rather than getting to the gym and lifting all that heavy stuff!
Jeff- I'm still going to try and keep my mileage up around 30-35 mpw. I'm sure that will constantly be sore. lol

30-35mpw + NROL... WOW! You're joining Dave in that realm of physical challenge that would kill me.

And with that sort of w/o regimen, she'll probably be giving you the nickname Hot Psycho Gym Guy.

Dave, me just being me impresses her.
Rob- That'll be a lot nicer than what she's called me in the past.

Did it involve the f-word and "stalker"?

F-word, yes. But she was the one driving by my place!
------------------
29NOV06
7.9 mile run
1:03:33 (8:03 avg pace)
Rained pretty steadily the whole way through this one. It's amazing how many people feel the need to tell you it is raining while you are out running in it. I thought about hitting the dreadmill but tomorrow it's supposed to get cold again (highs around 30) and snow the next few days. I knew that today would probably be the last day in a while that I'd get to run in 60 degree temps.

Yeah, hot gym chick thought I had something going on with super smokin' hot former malf professor Laura. When I told her that I didn't but wished I did that's when the f-word came into play. Imagine that. Also about the time the drivebys started.
Must have been early in the run. I know that near the end of one, especially a tough one, nobody wants to even look at me, let alone talk to or offer a ride!

Niiiccceee. I've almost made that mistake a time or five. Glad I didn't.

HA! Every woman says she wants honesty in a man... that is until they find out what we're really thinking.

30NOV06
NROL Break-in program
sets x reps x weight
Workout B:
Straight Sets:
Deadlift – 2 x 15 x 155
Superset:
Step-Up – 2 x 15(e) x 35 e.h.
DB One Arm Shoulder Press – 2 x 15(e) x 35
Superset:
Close Grip Lat Pulldown – 2 x 15 x 100
Incline sit-ups – 2 x 20 x B
I wasn't sure where to start out with the deads. I'll be able to increase quite a bit next time I do this workout. My legs were absolutely fried still from the squats the other day and yesterday's 8 miler so the step-ups pretty much sucked. Hell, just walking around today hurt.
4 mile recovery run in the snow planned for tomorrow. Should be fun. The weather report is calling for 12" starting with a 1/4" of ice then 1-2" of snow an hour throughout the day. Yay!

01DEC06
4.1 mile recovery run
untimed
I waited til the snow stopped- we ended up well short of the predicted 12" but still got close to 6", I'd say. I thought about running this on the treadmill but I wanted to try out my new screw shoes. I didn't really need them. It was still warm enough that most of the snow on the ground was wet and sloppy, slushy. However, in a few parking lots and on a couple side streets where the plows hadn't hit yet enough traffic had packed the snow, they worked fantastic.
11 miles planned for tomorrow.

OK, tell me about the screw shoes. I don't have a plan yet for running in the snow, and it's clearly here!
