Now wait a second, it was 42 here this morning with winds like that. Shouldn't it be about 5 up there?? I'm getting too much cold.

Has anyone ever heard of post-marathon depression? I'm serious. I feel like I'm just bummed. I've had a goal for the past year and now nothing.
Yeah, I think that's pretty typical. Definitely a "now what" feeling. You just have to set another goal, either a weight training plan or a new target race.

Yikes. Did they cancel school? :p

I've been suggested a new goal while I wait to begin race training again.

Thats weird we both had crappy runs and we both found money on the same day. Unfortunately for me that is most likely going to be as similar as our running ever gets. My training for the LR Half will start the week of December 10. I am not looking forward to some of those long runs in the cold months.

6.5 mile run
53:45 (8:16 avg pace)

Nice, easy run with my friends Shiela and Keith, running off a few vodka and cranberries from the night before.

19NOV06

9.65 mile run
1:22:08 (8:31 avg pace)

I was such a slacker yesterday I felt pretty good this morning, so I decided to get a mediumish distance run in. A tit bit nipply out there, but all in all a nice run. I did it pretty slow but not as slow as my pace indicates. I stopped to give directions to some hopelessly lost soul whom I saw drive by me 3 different times.

As an interesting comparison to Dave's runs done in the mountains of Abalama, I'm posting an elevation graph (graphs are cool) of today's run.

Note that the elevation difference for my run is only +/- 100 feet. His are +/- 500!

Hey, that's still a pretty nice hill!!! I thought Grand Rapids was flat.

Is that from MapMyRun????

The graphs I use come from MotionBased. I have a membership there, but I'm starting to wonder whether I really need to spend $12/month for geeky data about my runs. LOL!!! I think there are some alternatives popping up.

20NOV06

4.3 mile run
30:14 (7:02 avg pace)

Nice tempo run. A little off the pace I ran last week, but I did run 9 miles yesterday and 6 the day before. My legs were pretty tight before heading out (in fact I wasn't even going to run), but I did some foam rolling while working on that godforsaken word puzzle and loosened up nicely. I then decided to run because I probably won't get a chance tomorrow seeing as I'm hitting the road for Milwaukee right after class.

How long will it take you to run to Milwaukee, Jim? :p

----------------------
21NOV06

330 mile drive to Milwaukee
5:10:00 hours (63.9 mph avg pace)
Traffic near Chicago sucks.
----------------------

23NOV06

7 mile run untimed
6 hours (at least) of stuffing my face

----------------------

24NOV06

330 mile drive home
4:45:00 (69.5 mph avg pace)
Everyone must have been at the mall.

----------------------

25NOV06

10 mile run
1:18:47 (7:53 avg pace)

1st half - 40:53 (8:11)
2nd half - 37:53 (7:35)

What a beautiful morning for a run. Wish I had a gun with me this morning, though. I saw 3 deer, including one nice size buck, standing in the trail. I got within 30 yards of them before they ambled on. I can't believe they let me get that close seeing it's the middle of deer season.

As for the run, I felt great, though I was way overdressed expecting to be cold. I was under a little time crunch or I would have done 12 miles. I really felt like running this morning. Got a nice nap in, however, this afternoon.

My splits are eerily similar to a 10 mile run I did a couple weeks ago: (40:27; 37:56) compared to (40:53; 37:53). Pretty even, I'd say.

Thanks, Dee. This time of year, I consider every day with weather like today, a gift.
