Good luck on your race!

Jim, your nurse is here to administer your IV and keep you relaxed for the rest of the week.

How the hell is she supposed to relax me? LOL

Well, give me a while and then maybe I'd be relaxed.

No snow here last night. They did get some snow and ice a little south of here. I'm still taking two classes over at the community college and today they were cancelled because of an academic advising day. This is my last semester there, so it would be pointless to go to their little shindig. Well, last time I went they did have free coffee and doughnuts...

I'm a couple pages late but nice race, Jim! The GVSU campus is awesome. I actually almost went there.

Thanks, Jamie! That's cool that you were thinking about going to Grand Valley. Definitely a great school.

This was part of the now daily e-mails from the race director:

2. You get a medal when you get done.
3. Everybody respects you in the morning.

4. Superman costumes aren't seen as "freakish."
5. No societal taboo against paying for entry.

This is fun!

4 days?!?! Don't remind me!

I don't think so. Not that large of a race yet.

I'm in the "scarlet wave," kicking off at 8:25. Do you know if they allow tracking by name, or do I need to go all the way into my email inbox and look up my bib number?

I don't know, but I just asked for your bib number in your log!!

Unfortunately, I won't be able to keep up all the way to the end on Sunday morning. It's supposed to be in the 70's here, so I'll have to get my long run started fairly early.

By 8:25AM I should be 5k into my race. That means you'll catch me around the 20 mile mark, huh?

Actually, if you run a 7mpm and I run a 7:30 I think you be about the 24.75 mile mark as I finish. Don't hold me to that calculation, though. At those paces, I think it would take about 43.5 miles for you to catch up. I think. My algebra skills are a little rusty. Laura would be so disappointed.

I haven't worked out the problem, so I can't say if you're right or not. But having seen pictures of Laura, I can see why you weren't focused on the subject matter.

Just drink a lot between now and Sunday morning. It helps relieve the taper madness!

Your weather forecast doesn't look too bad. A little cold and maybe snow showers?? That would be kind of cool. At least not frigid cold or too warm!!

Drink a lot? I'll have a vodka and cranberry, please. lol

I just checked the weather forecast (again). The Saturday night Sunday morning lows are 35. What's worrying me is the wind. 20-30 mph on Saturday evening. I hope they'll die down by Sunday morning.

Right now the hourly forecast only goes til 6 AM Sun and it reads:

6am Partly Cloudy 36°F 28°F 10% 27°F 70% From W 11 mph

What to wear? Argghh.. Make it stop!! LOL
