Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Was the broken treadmill the one closest to the door? They probably didn't want to walk ALL the way past you to find another treadmill. And I'm certain they didn't see the irony in that, either.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
No it wasn't. It's staggered, and you come in behind the back rows (there's three I think), and I was in the first row. I like my space. If she was cute, ok, I would cut her some slack, but if it's an ugly chick or a guy I don't know, sorry, get yer ass away from me. (Typical college guy response, I know)
No workout today, I had class and four basketball games. Tomorrow I have to cover four games, but I have a break in the afternoon that should allow me to get to the gym. This week has not been fun, I just want to go to sleep.

Guess who's not going to get to the gym again today?
I don't have anything tomorrow. I'm going as soon as it opens at noon.

At least you didn't blow off the workout, Nick. Way to go. Good luck on the tests tomorrow and with getting your project in on-time. You'll get 'er done, no doubt!

Hang in there, Nick. All that secondary stuff, you know quizzes and projects, will be over soon and you can return to you're true calling.....music video critic!
Nice job with the weights, too.

Home free!!!!
At least for the time being. Thanks for the encouragement guys, I now have a fairly clear path until the retreat. I'm going to reward myself with a nice 2 hour nap this afternoon after class. Then sit back, relax and watch some basketball.
In related news, it looks like I will be writing about something fitness related for my "big story 2" in journalism class. I'm thinking something along the lines of common weight room fallacies/misconceptions. I can't get too advanced because of my audience. We'll see.
And Gabe, school is for losers.

Nick,
I am sure a lot of us would like to read it when it's done.

3 weeks! Yikes, that's scary. I may need to spend those weeks on the treadmill.
M- definitely. I hope to impress some people in class when I talk about it Thursday. (sad, I know)

HIIT
5 minutes @ 3.5
4 rounds; 1 minute @ 10.2, 2 minutes @ 6.5
5 minutes @ 3.5
Interestingly I was not nearly as spent after these intervals. This is the last week of four rounds before I go to five, so I may try to see if I can get to four rounds of 10.5 before I add another interval. Also a good day because there were no Britney or Jessica songs! There was a Gwen Stefani one though, so I wasn't completely spared.

If I were a rich girl, na na na na na na na na na na na na na na na ........ AAARRRRGGGGHHHHH!!!!!!!!
Odd... I had the same experience today. I found the HIIT somewhat easier. Ended up doing an extra 2 intervals .... cause I could. Go figure. Must be a full moon or something.

Rob,
As a matter of fact, there was a full moon last night. LOL
Nick,
10.2 is a gruelling pace. My treadmill only goes up to 10 and that is a tough pace to keep up for long.

Yes, I have to agree with you, John. I have done 10 but only for a very brief period. A minute at that pace is admirable, especially followed by such a short "slow" interval. You must be wrecked by the end of those 4 intervals, Nick.
LOL on the full moon, John. Had to be! :p
