Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
[ QUOTE ]
M- Ok, I will definitely do that Sunday or Monday when I do workout B again. They were hard enough with my hands flailing.
J- Thanks! I really, really like the squat. Maybe it's because it's the exercise that I improve the quickest on, but I really enjoy it. It's the deadlifts that I hate. I could squat 3x12 for the rest of my life, but the 12 rep deadlifts are about to kill me.
[/ QUOTE ]
That's funny - we're the exact opposite. Deadlifts are my strongest lift, but squats just kill me.
Those numbers are looking great. Keep it up!

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Wow, thanks everyone! Yeah, I was really surprised; I normally get weird looks and "my back won't let me do those" comments when I deadlift or squat.
I am not carrying Ryan back to the hotel. I want to see him pass out and piss on the side of a building downtown. I will have my camera.
BFG- Well, my calipers here have a dead battery, I don't have a scale here, and I left my myotape at home after I brought it upstairs so I could take it back. So basically I am going on the mirror. It's going down slowly but surely. It's pretty noticeable, especially in the mornings. However, as I have griped about, my diet is impeding my progress somewhat and I am working on fixing that. College is not kind to healthy eating. I look forward to having a kitchen next year and cooking.
M- Yes, they are supposed to be push presses. I converted them into straight military presses because I feel that my overhead pressing is a weak point.
J- Are you built more conducively for deadlifting? I actually am. I am really long in the torso and have relatively short legs, but I can never seem to get comfortable/steadily progress with it.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Wednesday March 1
Da Brotha's 17th birthday.
Superset 1
Snatch Grip Deadlifts
3x12 @ 195
T Pushups
3x12
Sheesh, the 10 lb increase was not fun at all.
Superset 2
Bulgarian Split Squat/Overhead Press
3x12 @ 20 (EH)
Underhand Lat Pulldown
3x12 @ 165
If my shoulders could handle more, I could go up to 25s. I may only be able to do 22.5's next time. The lat towers go up in 15s, so I am interested to see how many reps I can get at 180 next time as well.
Superset 3
Romanian DL/Bent Over Row
3x12 @ 110
Lower Body Russian Twists
3x12
I noticed my grip and forearms a lot more this time.
With the abnormally warm weather today (mid 70s) the rec center was nice and sticky. I was wet after just my first set of deadlifts. I hope that won't be the case as the weather continues to get warmer. Maybe they still had the heat on today.

FL2 looking good for you - 12 x 195 is great! You/Mahler are definately acting as catalysts for me to majorly improve my squat and deadlifts..

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Nick,
Looking great and improving all the time. One of these days, I hope to be posting my training logs at some point, but don't want to continue to sidetrack your thread. The improvement on the Snatch grip deads is great.

Thanks O! Mahler is really being my inspiration, so all gratitude goes towards him.
BFG- It's back down to 50 here and really windy. It was 82 yesterday at home (2 hrs away). That's unheard of for the end of February/first of March.
M- Thanks. I hope this forum crap is figured out sooner than later. I am really getting my butt kicked in this.
Thursday, March 2
NFL roster scramble day
HIIT
5 minute warmup @ 3.5
4 rounds; 1 minute @ 10, 2 minutes @ 6.5
5 minute cooldown @ 3.5
Had the pleasure of watching some bozo on LA get chased after she stole a police SUV. I can't say I wasn't entertained. However, I forgot my ipod at home and was once again treated to the sweet (gag) sounds of Jessica Simpson for my final intervals.

I hope there was at least some video of Jessica to make up for the songs! :/
A minute at 10? Shite.

Yeah there was. The vid was back from when she had curves. But her chin was still freaky.
Yep, a minute at 10. Wasn't as gassed this time. I may have to go up.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Friday, March 3
Superset 1
Squats
3x10 @ 200
Wide Grip Rows
3x10 @ 150
I thought for a while that I was doing 205, but had a brain fart and ended up only doing 200. It was probably a good thing because it was tough as hell.
Came back down with the rows, but that was expected. I think the tension is too tight here, and too loose at home.
Superset 2
Standing Military Press
10, 8, 8 @ 85
Lunges
3x10 @ 27.5 (EH)
Too conservative on the lunges, I should have gone to 30s or even 35s. I got too overaggressive though on the military press and paid the price.
Superset 3
Supine Hip Extension/Leg Curl
3x10
Upper Body Russian Twist
3x10 @ (+15)

Dude,
Your new avatar is thoroughly distracting. I can't stop looking at it.

Nick, I would try to add another interval rather than extend the interval. Try for 5 instead of 4.
BTW, I agree with LD. Your avatar is seriously hot. Just the way she's holding her mouth. She wants me. She really does.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
I was actually thinking of cranking it up and seeing if I can get up to the 10.7 I was at while doing three intervals.
I agree, I love that avatar as much as my previous Marisa Miller one. She's definitely one of the hottest women I have ever seen.
