Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
A little friendly competition? Maybe this will result in a showdown at the retreat! Good job guys, pushing each other for new goals is awesome motivation; for yourselves and the others watching.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Thanks guys! I thought to myself that I could have taken it easy and gone up five pounds, but then I wouldn't have caught the IMLOD. And what fun would that have been?
Ok, 3x10 at 195? That's Monday. And that's not going to be a problem.
Who the hell rated my log one star? Effing people. I am just going to have to login under a different name and make it a five star post.

The whole damned weekend is going to be spent in competition, lol.
Perhaps the same person that rated mine one star!

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Whatever........
Friday February 3
Superset 1
Deadlifts
3x12 @ 185
DB Bench Press
3x12 @ 65
I have decided that I am going to propose a "weight room misconceptions and bad habits" idea for my first story for journalism class. Maybe because I am not in the greatest of moods today, but it just seems like I see more and more bad habits with each passing workout. Two different guys decided they were going to curl right behind the rack I was using for the deadlifts. I gave them the evil eye, but they didn't get the hint. Jackoffs.
Superset 2
Bulgarian Split Squats
3x12 @ 15 (EH)
Lat Pulldown
3x12 @ 135
Superset 3
Romanian Deadlifts
3x12 @ 100
Lateral Roll
3x12
Feeling like I was/am going to puke. This workout really took it out of me today. I wasn't really looking forward to going, but with all the crap I am going to eat this weekend, I forced myself to go. Had my normal preworkout shake routine, but I had to fill my Brita because it was empty. I wonder if the water being nonrefrigerated had anything to do with it.
Going to do intervals both Saturday and Sunday to hopefully counteract some of the food. I have been slacking off on my intervals because of my time schedule on Tuesdays and Thursdays, and I HATE waiting for a treadmill.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Nick,
I think I pulled out ahead today.
Deads at 3x10x245
Romanians 3x10x205
You inspired me.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Just when I catch you in sqauts, BAM! here you come with the deadlifts. That is unbelieveable. There is no way in hell that I can do 245 for 3x10. But I am going to get you in the squats, and sooner rather than later!
Saturday February 4
HIIT
5 minute warmup @ 3.5
3 rounds- 60 seconds at 10.7, 120 seconds at 7
5 minute cooldown
19 minutes total.
Because of my slackage in these over the last week or so, I am going to continue with the three intervals through this week. Then, starting the 14th or so I will go up to four intervals. My abs are getting closer, I just need to keep working.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
I caught you again today.
Monday February 5
Superset 1
Squats
3x10 @ 195
Cable Seated Rows (Close Grip)
3x10 @ 150
I *almost* got greedy and wanted to go for 200, but talked myself out of it, and it probably was a good choice. I don't think I would have completed all the reps at 200.
Superset 2
Standing DB Military Press
3x10 @ 35 (EH)
Rotational Lunge
3x10 @ 15
Superset 3
Supine Hip Extensions
3x10
Weighted Swiss Ball Situps
3x10
The sweat really didn't pour from this one. It was more of a general feeling of muscle fatigue than anything. I was still wiped out at the end, but not so much cardiovascularly.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Okay, my man.
The old guy did 3x10x275 on deads this morning.
(A new record for multiples for me.)
Sorry to say, Monday squats were 3x10x205. LOL
I am doing this for your own good. You know that, don't you?
By the way, I gave you a 5 star rating.
You really are kicking ass, my friend.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
AHHHH!!!!!!!
Fine. I'm jumping 20 lbs on the deads tomorrow. And I am jumping 10 lbs on the squats Friday/whenever I do them.
You're the one kicking my ass. And it's going to get me to my goals.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Wednesday February 8
Superset 1
Deadlifts
3x10 @ 205
DB Bench Press
3x10 @ 70 (EH)
Did it. 20 lbs. And it almost killed me.
Superset 2
Bulgarian Split Squats
3x10 @ 25 (EH)
Mixed Grip Lat Pulldown
3x10 @ 150
This was insane.
Superset 3
Romanian Deadlifts
3x10 @ 135
Lateral Roll
3x10
Something is wrong with my RDLs. Either my form is not right, or something. I look like the example from exrx, but I have also read to keep my back straight. And how much angle am I supposed to have in my knees? This one is throwing me for a loop.

Re: 2006 Pack: A Fat Boy\'s Shallow and Vain Journey
Steady progress, Nick. Nice going. Your DB presses are way ahead of mine. I am only pushing 50's. My forte is lower body strength, while yours seems to be upper. Gotta love to hate those split squats and yes the superset is insane.

You're doing really well with this program, Nick. I must say I'm really missing not tracking along with you. Half the fun of doing S2B was comparing notes with you.
