135 pound Powerclean, 10 reps
15 Push-ups
Modifications:
Powerclean = 115 lbs (10 lb increase from 12/21/05)
Completion time 10:13 (7 sec slower than 12/21/05)
I was tempted to do "Linda" this morning since I enjoy that workout, but didn't think I had it in me today. Maybe tomorrow. The p-cleans felt good and I was happy with my form all the way through. Should try another 10 lb increase next time.

ya know, I thought about the "to do Linda" comment as i was typing but thought we'd be mature enough to let it slide. i forgot most of you guys are still in junior high.
New Year's resolution: use "i completed (girls name) workout" or "I finished (girls name) workout." Never, under ANY circumstances, say "do (girls name)" again or suffer the consequences of on-line teenagers. [img]/images/graemlins/tongue.gif[/img]

Nice work. That last workout is a lot like the "Elizabeth" workout:
21-15-9 reps for time of:
-Clean 135 pounds
-Dips
She is a brutal one. Your time is very impressive for the amount of work that is done in that workout. Do you ever do full cleans, or always just stick with power cleans? They can really up the pain of a workout like this one.

Craig, that 'Elizabeth' workout defnitely looks rough. There's no way i'd be able to do the recommended weight...at least not yet. As you said, full cleans are demanding. I do them when they're prescribed, but I enjoy power cleans more. I'd really like to start adding some jerks and snatches to my routine, but at this point they're too much for the shoulder.

Snow shoveling; 3 inches of wet snow.
Wednesday, Dec 4
Modified "Linda" workout
10-9-8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 reps of the triplet:
Deadlift: 1 ½ body weight
Bench press: body weight
Clean: ¾ body weight (did front squat from the floor as substitute)
Bodyweight = 153 lb
Modifications:
DL = 175 lbs (76% of Rx'd load; 20 lb increase from 12/7/05)
BP = 155 lbs (100% " " "; same as 12/7)
Front squat = 115 lb (100% " " "; 20 lb increase from 12/7)
Completion time: 20:22 min (8:05 min decrease).
Once again I think the drastic decrease in completion time is due to setup. I exercised at the work gym this morning and had 3 bars at my disposal so I didn't have to switch weights around. The next time around I'll attempt full cleans as prescribed.

That's a great time and loads for Linda. How did you feel vs one bar? I've only done it as straight sets as I only have the one Oly bar. I'm thinking of subbing dips for bench press next time so that I can keep moving. Great workout.

Bill, when I do them at home I arrange the weights such that the weights for lightest exercise (front squats) are on the inside, then add weights for the heavier lifts. At this point I only use 25s, 10s and 5s so it's fairly easy to slide them on/off compared to a 35 or 45 lb plate. I'm doing floor presses for the BP, so that means I only have to lift the loaded bar off the floor about 18-inches to rack it. Probably wouldn't be able to do it in timely manner if I had to get the bar up onto the bench supports. I also start the front squats from the floor, so technically the first rep is a power clean.
