Murph

In memory of Navy Lieutenant Michael Murphy, 29, of Patchogue, N.Y., who was killed in Afghanistan June 28th, 2005.
This workout was one of Mike's favorites and he'd named it 'Body Armor.' From here on it will be referred to as 'Murph' in honor of the focused warrior and great American who wanted nothing more in life than to serve this great country and the beautiful people who make it what it is.

Time 55:00
Halfway through this week of doing almost nothing I declared it a taper before the big event. I was starting to loose focus on my workouts with a lot of projects at home and work and felt that I'd better get this out of the way before I slipped too far.
I have to say that this is even harder than it looks. I was halfway through with a time of 23:00. I did 20 sets of 5 pull-ups, 10 push-ups and 15 squats. I took a much needed 2 minute rest after set 13 to catch my
breath. After set 15 I just wanted to get done and slowed some. Now for the real time killer, I walked the final mile. My legs were like jelly after the 300 squats. The first mile was 9 minutes, the second 15 minutes.
I am a little disappointed with the time, 50 minutes was my goal. However, when I look back at how much more fit I am now than when I started this log in September I'm thrilled. Except for the people on this board I'm the fittest almost senior citizen I know.
Thanks Greg, Craig, Dave, Chris and everyone else who encouraged me and set such high standards to follow on the X Fit workouts. I already have a new goal in mind for next year. Tonight it's dinner with friends and an open bar at a graduation party afterwards, another reson to get it over today.
