Basketball-played seven games ten minutes each. I really felt good and may have gotten off the ground a few times. Hit a beautiful 12 foot catch and shoot turn around jumper on the first possession of the night. I'm pretty sure people are still talking about it. Also did six sets of 5 pull-ups on a ladder with palms facing each other.

Did you hit it over Chet? Hopefully he's still stewing about it

Chet was skulking in his cave last night. I hit it over someone good.

Thursday 04/20/06
215.5 lbs
BOM Advanced C
Ab Circuit
Straight Sets 60 sec rests
Squats 45/95/100/105/110/115/120/125/ 130/135/140x10
Calf Raises 135/155/160/165/170x15
Chin-ups 6/6/6/6/6
Even with light weights I was dripping sweat when this was done. With only 60 second rest it was hard to figure how much weight to use in this X Fit like workout. I can walk today, so I probably went too light.

I know what your saying LD. I read over the last week or so and I swear I couldn't find a day that said where he rested.

Friday 04/21/06
217 lbs
5 Rounds for time:
Pull-ups 5 reps
Bench Press 135 lbs 10 reps
Decline Sit-ups 15 reps
Time 11:00
I erroneously reported that my legs felt ok after last nights squat marathon, hurt like hell now. I'd planned to run a slow mile but got a late start tonight. Tomorrow will be a rest day as a herd of friends are going to the Penn State spring game. My son's best friend should get some real playing time this year. My son and friends are coming in from Pitt so it should be a real tailgate, rain or shine.

BOM Advanced A
Ab Workout
Deadlift 135/155/160/165/170/175/180/18 5/190/195/2x6
Shrugs 90-10/135/140/145/150/155x10
Seated Military Press 65x10/95/100/105/110/115X6
Straight Sets-60 second rests
Penance for yesterday's tailgating. Eight hours of beer, meat balls, Bloody Marys, burgers, brownies and more beer in the rain. All that healthy food must have done some good as I was able to do more reps with more weight in the press than last week. Sixty second rests actually get you sweating and breathing hard in what looks like a low rep workout.

Whoa! First time looking at your log, Bill and I'm thinking you're a bit crazy, but one motivated sumbitch! These workouts are impressive as hell. I'm cheering for you, man and will continue to follow your log.

It's good to know that my wife is in good company...she thinks I'm nuts too. Seriously, thanks to all of you new visitors. Encouragement is always welcome. I managed a few more reps and a little more weight on almost all lifts tonight. This week will be a real challenge to get all three work outs in. I travel to Texas Thursday to abuse cars and test tires at Continental's test facility in Uvaldo. I should try to get that damn squat day in on Wednesday, but the day after basketball and beer I'm usually too tired to do more than keep my eyes open 'till the end of "Lost". We'll see how motivated I am then.

Come'on Bill - you're gonna be spending the weekend driving in circles tearing up other people's tires. You need that squat routine to counterbalance the core & arm work you'll get from sliding around the car.
Have a good trip and drive it like you stole it.

That tire thing sounds like fun. I'm a boring driver. I could use that!

Basketball night- played 6 hard 12 minute games in a really hot gym. Only got in 3 sets of 5 pull-ups tonight. We did get lucky and hit $7.00 Harp Lager pitchers at the Ale House.

Sunday 04/30/06
221 lbs
BOM Advanced C
Ab Circuit
Straight Sets 60 sec rests
Squats 45/95/100/105/110/115/120/125/ 130/135/140x10
Calf Raises 135/155/160/165/170x15
Chin-ups 6/6/6/6/6
I felt pretty lethargic after traveling this weekend. Pull-ups were especially hard. I'll blame it on too much Shiner Bock Beer and ribs. Friday was the ultimate man good time. I got to beat the crap out of new Dodge Rams, BMW 325s, Mustangs and VW Touregs. We tested tire capabilities on six different track surfaces for almost eight hours. My right leg was a little sore from pushing the accelerator so hard. We even got to chase cars around the tracks in a little helicoptor sometimes about six feet off the track. To top off the day we were taken to a private club for beer drinking and skeet shooting. Yes, in that order! Shades of Dick Chaney. Waitresses just kept showing up with more beer, very well trained and attractive lasses. After a dinner of steak, quail and shrimp we bused back to San Antonio to catch the end of the last night of La Fiestiva, Spanish for "the party. " It just doesn't get any more manly than that. I felt like an exhausted, hungover Tim Allen flying home on Saturday. More to the point, I lifted like it today. I guess I've learned that rest and nutrition are important especially to the mature lifter.

Sounds like a great time, Bill. A real "manly-man" type day. Any pics? Beer lasses prefered but will look at cars, etc too.
