Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
That is awesome T!!! You're really kicking some ass. I'm very proud of you. I know that you're eating and eating (kinda like we're having a contest isn't it?) and to have your bodyfat go down? Well, that's something to be proud off.
Excellent job my friend.

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Yes, I'm eating all day long. But you know what, I'm always hungry for it! When I first started I didn't know how I was going to eat so much. I've had about 1400cals so far today. Will probably be around 2400 by the end of the day. I should probably get up even higher. We'll see where I am in another week or two.
Today's workout was good. Went up in everything except my reverse-grip pulldowns. Was losing form and didn't want to push it. Also, started on 3 sets for all exercises now.
General warmup (Circuit performed 2x)
Specific warmup
Smith Machine Split Squat: 20lbsx8, 20x8
Underhand Seated Row: 50x8, 70x8
Workout
Smith Machine Split Squat: 40x8, 50x8, 60x8
Underhand Seated Row: 100x8, 110x8, 120x8
DB RDL: 25sx8, 35sx8, 35sx8
Kneeling pushup: 8repsx3sets
1-Leg Stability Ball Leg Curls: first set 4reps 1leg, rest 2leg. second set 8reps 1leg, last set pushed to 10 reps. slowly getting these down.
Reverse grip pulldown: 67.5x8, 75x8, 75x6

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Don't you just love those stability ball leg curls? I keep losing control of the ball... So far I've managed to avoid propelling the thing and actually hitting someone.
Question: why do you do split squats on the Smith? Is that because holding DBs will aggravate your shoulder?
Great going. Keep eating!

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Craig actually recommends the Smith I think because of stability. At least he did on mine. I used a BB and when I went a bit higher in the SS with an elevated back foot, I had to be careful - almost fell over a few times.

Its really just to give the grip a rest. Not stability.
Thanks,
Craig

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
RB, those leg curls are killer. I really do like the challenge they offer. I like to push myself. Controlling the ball is the hardest part. After a couple weeks, you'll get the hang of it. I'm on week 3 and yesterday was my best with them so far, although certainly not perfect.
Speaking of grip...I have calluses again! Yay!..lol. The sign of hard work But I may start wearing gloves cause the db's start to slip a little and we can't use chalk at my gym.

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Got the results of the MRI back today. No labral tear..yay! Just shows some minor inflammation. The doc is thinking the fall I took previously could have caused it. And even though I fell without being intoxicated, he did tell me "No drinking and walking at the same time"..lol.
Core training today
Superset
Ab Curl-up (2x10)
Side Plank (2x4 per side) held 10sec each side
Bird Dog (2x6 per side)
Plank (2x30 seconds)

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Good workout today. Not much to report about it. There was absolutely no way I could go higher than 25s on my db chest press though....My arms get tired from holding them on step-ups. I don't want to lose form and screw up the shoulder.
General warmup (Circuit performed 2x)
Specific Warmup
Dumbbell Step-up: 12sx8, 12sx8
Dumbbell Chest Press: 12sx8, 12sx8
Workout (Supersets)
DB Step-up: 25sx8, 25sx8, 30sx8
DB Chest press: 25sx8, 25sx8, 25sx8
DB Row: 25x8, 25x8, 30x8
1-leg Calf Raise: 25lbsx10, 25x10, 30x10
Wide-grip Seated Row (machine): 75lbsx8, 75x8, 80x8
Bicycle Crunch: 3 sets of 40

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Just felt like coming on and complaining..lol. Went to bed early last night so I could get a good nights sleep, then Justin woke up at 2am and I had to go in his room to sleep...so much for the good nights sleep. I wake up and feel icky like I'm getting a cold. I am having other personal issues that I DON'T feel like dealing with. I just want to go to bed for the next 24 hours but DH is working all weekend so I won't get to do much resting. Although Justin may be getting sick as well, so maybe we'll both sit around and do nothing all weekend. Ugh...it feels like Monday...today sucks.
As far as training goes...will do core later today then I have to get up around 6am tomorrow if I want to get to the gym before DH goes to work...GREAT...hope I am feeling better then.

Chin up GIRL! You can do it!!! I've got faith in you. Besides, if you give up that means I'll have to give up and I DON'T QUIT. Therefore, neither do you... LOL how's that for some logic? LOL
I know you won't give up, just trying to cheer you up a little. Ain't I horrible at it? LOL LOL LOL

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
LOL...I'm not giving up...just complaining. Feel like I'm dealing with so much crap right now I just want to curl up, shut the lights off, and go to bed. Unfortunately, that won't make everything better..it will just put it off a day.
And I'll never give up on working out...that's the one thing that keeps me sane.
DH...stands for Dear Husband...or DAMN Husband as the case may be...lol.

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
So, I guess when I have a bad day...I...have...a bad day. Just got back from the hospital. Had to take Justin in because I didn't like the way his breathing looked. Turns out he has pneumonia. When I took him to the docs on Monday, he thought it was allergies. Of course, Justin wasn't near as bad as he was today. He just had a cough then. So he's on antibiotics and meds, and my wonderful genes have probably passed my asthma on to him.
Diet of course, totally sucked today...I did not get in enough cals. I'll try to get back on track tomorrow. Although it appears I won't be making it to the gym. Doubt I can wake up in 4 hrs and have enough energy to get through the workout...grrrr. This will get back to being an actual training log come Monday

man, I'm sorry to hear that about Justin. Poor little fella.
A bad day is natural. It's how well you turn it around that matters.
You'll kick some ass later in the weekend T. I have all the faith in world in that.

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Geez, the poor kid. I hope Justin's feeling better soon.
Bad days come along and happen to all of us. I don't want to sound patronizing; but I'll say that I've found sometimes we just have to rely on the fact that we can build on our strength (mental and physical) during the good days, and that gets us through the bad ones. And somehow those bad ones often make us stronger, as well, but we don't realize it until afterward. Sorry, that sounds a bit corny, I know. I'm sure you'll get through this and come out readier than ever to take on the gym.
Plus, you're a dedicated Mom. Justin is always your first priority, and right now he needs extra from you. Of course you're going to temporarily set aside your goals to focus on him. It's the right thing to do.
Hang in there.
