Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Good workout today. Went better than Monday. Getting used to things a little more. I tell ya'...I've never sweat during a workout like I do with this. And I'm not even lifting all that much yet! When I am up to all my sets, I'll be soaked..lol. I'd push myself in previous workouts, but I was just working one area of the body before. During TT, my whole body is working hard. I'm likin' it
Shoulder did good today. Only thing to note about it was on DB Chest Press...felt a bit of "crunching"...but no pain. Rest of the workout was incident-free.
General warmup (Circuit performed 2x)
10 reps bodyweight squats
3 reps of 10 seconds for the plank
8 pushups or kneeling pushups (did kneeling..no shoulder pain today )
2 reps of 10 seconds per side for side plank
10 reps of light db rows
Specific Warmup
Dumbbell Step-up: 10sx8, 12sx8
Dumbbell Chest Press: 10sx8, 12sx8
Workout
DB Step-up: 20sx8, 25sx8
DB Chest press: 20sx8
DB Row: 20sx8
1-leg Calf Raise: 15lbsx10, 20lbsx10
Wide-grip Seated Row (machine): 55lbsx8
Bicycle Crunch: 2 sets of 40
Question: In doing the 1-leg calf raise, I held the db on the same side as the working leg, and I had to use my other hand to steady myself. Not really putting too much pressure on it, but 2-3 fingers against the wall. Is this ok? I am just so clumsy, I didn't want to chance it. Maybe in a couple weeks I can wean myself from using it for balance.

I still use a few fingers for balance as well. Better that than a slip and a ruptured achilles tendon!

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
T - I always still balance myself with a few fingers too and I've been doing 'em for damn near 10 years. Like Kaiser said, I don't want to risk hurting anything. I'm glad to see they seemed to work for you. I wonder, with 10 reps did you get much of a burn? I'm not familiar with TT that you're doing, are you able to go up any in reps? Maybe the 10 is just fine for you. Whatever works.

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Ok, cool. Yeah, 10 worked good...I was feeling a burn by the end. As I increase the weight I will feel it more as well. And this was my first time doing calves this way, ever. (Always been scared of falling over..lol). So yes, I was feelin' it
Took my bodyfat measurement this morning It's not horrible, but higher than it's been in a long time. But, it's what I get for having a crappy diet recently. Which has all changed with this program so I'm sure I will see a positive change
I'll re-list all the stats so they are all together for when I come back to compare.
Height 5'8"
Weight 130lbs
BF 20.4% (Omron)
Chest 36"
Waist 29.5"
Hips 34"
Thigh 19.5"
Calf 13"
L Bi 10.25"
R Bi 10"
Grrr, I'm OUT of my whey! Hopefully all my supps will be delivered today.

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Supplements just delivered
Did core training today. No pain with the shoulder and was able to do side planks without kneeling for the right side this time
Superset
Ab Curl-up (2x10)
Side Plank (2x4 per side) held 10sec each side
Bird Dog (2x6 per side) I love this one.
Plank (2x30 seconds) was shaking but made it!
Just a note:
Per Craig, I'm not doing any intervals for now. Going to see how I progress and add it in if needed. I tend to lose muscle easily when I add cardio in.

Good Lord! Bill Hartman would have a field day ripping into that article.

you know? I'm going to quit giving advice. Everytime I do, I'm wrong. I admit it. It's simply amazing I've come as far as I have, always being wrong and all.

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
I'm not sure if you're being sarcastic or not, but if you are being serious, relax man! There's really no way to know this info on stretching if you haven't been exposed to it before. Check out my last link with me going at it with Hartman a few years ago. I was repeating what I had learned, what is commonly published regarding stretching.
Every time I have followed Hartman's advice, I have been amazed. The man may be one of the best applied physiology experts in the US. When you hear other experts rave about his depth of knowledge, you realize he is a guy to pay attention to when he talks or posts.

Shut up you big dummy I've never seen you be wrong and I think K was just trying to offer a different perspective on things. Don't take it to heart. I spent all day yesterday reading all the links plus some, because it is new information to me too Then I posted more questions because I still didn't understand it all.

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
I was supposed to workout on Friday, however, I had an injury I needed to rest. What did I do you might ask? Stand up...yup..that's it...stand up...and I pulled something in my right leg. (My husband says I'm the only person he knows that can get injured doing nothing..lol). I had severe pain immediately when I tried to straighten or move my leg. I was in pain all night and had to use crutches to walk in the morning. I was standing up and must have moved the leg, cause I felt a big pop, and then I could straighten it again. I still had some soreness throughout the day so I thought it best not to workout. Today, however, the pain is totally gone. But I won't be in the area during the few hours that the gym is open so I can't go today. I do have an appointment with the orthopedist on Wednesday just to have things checked out. I've had similar feelings in the leg over the years, but it's always gone back within a few seconds.
The gym is closed on Monday, so I guess I'll be back on Tuesday.
