Thanks Jamie
I'll take some special pics just of my scars for ya'. Hard to see cause my doc did a GREAT job on me. Got some old ones on my knees too. And a bunch on my back. You're gonna think I'm super sexy with all those marks...lol.

I didn't do mine in the squat rack, but I wanted to. It was empty and almost all the other bars were busy.
Besides, my gym has no bars just laying around... They are all either on benches, the power rack, or the squat rack. If I use a bench, someone'll say I'm curling on a bench.
I ended up doing them on one of those raised platforms that people use for RDLs. Felt just as stupid, because now I'm all raised up like I'm proud of my BB curls.
My gym needs a straight barbell over in the curling section...
I'm sure "real" gyms don't have this issue, but I go to 24 Hour Fitness.

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Oh my!! Today's workout was intense! I really pushed myself hard. And you might notice I didn't use much weight. But since it's only my second week back, I couldn't yet. And I did a lot of unilateral work so I didn't need it! But I will build up fairly quickly
Warmup - 2 sets BW squats - 15reps
Single Leg Leg Press (starting resistance wt. 125lbs)
0(lol)x10 each leg
0x10
0x10
0x10
Bulgarian Split Squats (dumbbell) probably would have added more weight here but didn't want to with the shoulder still recovering.
BWx10 each leg
5sx10
5sx10
5sx10
Feeling a bit barfy at the end of these
Plie Squat
5lbsx10 (SHAKY LEGS)
5lbsx10 (yep...had to run and dry heave..lol)
10lbsx10
Unilateral calves on leg press
75lbsx10 each leg
95x8
95x8
Plan on concentrating on the hammies and core for Wednesday, then quads, glutes and calves again for Friday.
I'll be gone until Thursday evening..going to the beach...woohoo. So I'll log Wednesday's workout then

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
TG, what are you drinking or eating before and during your workout? What time of day are you working out? First thing in the a.m.?
One thing you might try to keep from that "barfy" feeling is sipping a protein shake made with some gatorade or other fast acting carbs + protein during your workout. I have problems with my sugar dropping during a workout. Mainly because I workout first thing in the a.m. when my sugar levels are very low. But drinking the gatorade/protein keeps me from getting that queezy feeling during intense workouts.
Just a thought to try and keep ya out of the can during your workout. Dry heaves are bad...
Keep after it! Good luck.
Ted

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
TG that video of the GHR shows the version I was talking about. THe first one with the pully assist. I have done the same, but used the rope(for tricep presses) rather than a bar. Using the rope, you can hold one end in each hand up against your chest and might be able to give it a go without impacting you shoulder.

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
LOL Ted. I'm gonna take the liberty of logging TGs workout log from yesterday from what she told me since she is on vacation. Strictly what she told me, a little creative editing to spice it up a bit.
Wednesday, July 27th
Holy crap! My hammies hurt so much I can barely go up and down the stairs. Single leg work is tough. That Kaiser sure knows what he is talking about. I think I see that my legs are bigger from that workout already.
My legs are too sore to workout today, and besides, I'm on vacation. I'll start up again on Friday - unless something else happens on that day like my son gets sick, I get sick, the gym closes when they say they will, or I fall down while dancing drunk (again) and hurt my shoulder (again). Then I'll start up again on Monday (again). Besides, I gotta lounge around the beach in my bikini and working out just takes away from that time.
I'm eating like a pig, and it isn't clean. Oh well, I'm lean as hell, not like that chubbo Kaiser, and it can't hurt me because I need to uptake my kcals to increase LBM anyway.
[PS to TG: this is only in exchange for getting Ceci to call me out. ]

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Thanks guys for checking in on me and giving advice. Buk, I will try the rope..thanks
Ted, I do drink a mix that is about 1:4 ratio (protein to carbs) immediately before working out...in the car on the way to the gym. Not during though...may need to do that.
Thanks K for posting my excuses...lol. I think I used the words SEVERE DOMS and I was cussing your ass out not thanking you...lol. I could not move for 3 days...Jeff said I was walking like I had a pole up my ass (no comments please..lol). Putting suntan lotion was brutal cause I had to actually touch my legs. But seriously, my legs feel bigger...lmao...too bad they don't look it
I'm getting ready to go the gym now so no excuse. And yes, I was on vacation from everything...including eating. But I paid for it...oh..the belly aches...I went a bit overboard I think. But like I said in my pics...I think it all just went to my boobs...lol...yay for hubby...lol.
(Yeah, yeah...you enjoyed Ceci calling you out..who are you kiddin')

Re: TG\'s Log...Building a Better Booty, Booty, B-B-B-B Booty!
Ok, just got back from my workout Hehe...funny thing is on the ski squats, hubby couldn't make it...fell on his ass during the last position...lol. Maybe I shouldn't make fun of him...lol. But he laughed too so I guess it's ok Now for MY embarassing moment. Did GHR's on the lat pulldown for the first time. Luckily hubby was there to spot me. Did not use enough weight the first time...went plummeting down toward the floor rather quickly..PAH HA!. It must have been a sight to see cause a guy on the ab machine said he could have sent it into funniest home videos..LOL. Precisely the reason why I knew I needed a spot there the first time...lol.
Ski squats (10sec between each position)
4 sets (I was just reading about these again, it said to only do one set per workout. Should I not do 4 or is it ok?)
Walking Lunges (db)
5sx14
10sx14
12sx14
Swiss ball hamstring curls
BWx12
BWx12
BWx12
BWx12
(Tried to do 1-leg on these but it was hard on the shoulder to help keep me balanced. I will try again after a little more healing time)
GHR on lat pulldown with rope
45lbx10
45lbx10
45lbx10
45lbx10
Babysitting closed so I couldn't do calves. Boo. Looking forward to next weeks workout!

The reason King tells you to do only one set is because thats all you probably can do after all the crap he puts you through in that phase.

Forgive my ignorance. What is a plie squat or pile squat assuming it might be a typo. That's the first I heard of that one.

Plie...it works the inner and outer thighs a bit more than a regular squat.

Thanks....it looks like a good exercise and something that I could use as a substitute since where I workout only has dumbells.

Yup. And I usually go heavier than that, but the shoulder is still holding me back.
