Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
01/31
Did the hilly 5k for the first time in weeks this morning. My pace was good up until the last half mile when my knee started giving me trouble again. Back to the big knee brace for awhile.

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
Did your knee hurt for a long time after the run or only during the run?

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
It was sore for a few hours but was better the next day. My back hurt for a couple of days though. Probably from running funny while favoring it. The body is a strange thing...

Yeah, it's me again. Man have I been busy with work, house selling, house hunting, etc. Finally got my lazy butt up this morning and ran my hilly 5K. 29:36 Not bad considering the extensive amount of training I've been doing. I wore my knee brace and felt much better after the run.

Re: ODB\'s sporadic training log!
Unfortunately my runs at home are in the dark and the Mrs. is asleep. Maybe that is why my motivation is down....hmmmmmmm.

Re: ODB\'s sporadic training log!
Well, it's official, I'm a slug!!! I had all my clothes out to run this morning. I new it was going to be cold. I set the alarm and sure enough, I laid there. Of course Lisa got up and ran to the bus stop in the 20 degree weather but I was a slug. Someone should just sprinkle me with salt!

Happy Valentines Day
Wow! One of the best runs I've had in awhile. The slugs got legs! I did the Hilly 5K in 28:45. I found myself concentrating more on keeping my speed up which hurt more during the run but got me home quicker. 32 Degrees out.

Re: ODB\'s sporadic training log!
Nice Job, ODB. The bad days come and they go. Keep up the good work. Is the knee brace still helping out? I like that theory too: the faster you go, the sooner it will be over, if if it is a little harder/more painful.

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
Hey, quick Happy Birthday Buk!
The knee brace is working just like it always did. I'll need to take at least 10 pounds off before I go back to the smaller brace again. I can't wait to get this whole selling/buying a house over with so Lisa and I can get back to fun stuff on the weekends like mountain biking and trail running. I had to blow off another chance to go mountain biking this weekend to work on the house.

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
The house should go on the market next week. We are hoping to find another house quickly as we think ours will go fast and it would be nice to have a smooth transition in the next month or two.
On top of everything else I'm in the middle of opening a new lodge that is the biggest project ever for the State Parks. It opens in May and I'm dealing with a lot of marketing issues for that on top of the regular stuff.

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
Is it to change location or just house that you are moving? How many miles away from your current house?
opening a new lodge, and the biggest projet, that must be very exciting! Is your new job pretty much as you thought it would be?

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
We are just down sizing houses (big kids are gone). We hope to live within a mile or two of our current house the job is great! Here is a link to the current project if you're interested:

That is an article that our local business magazine did yesterday on the new lodge. Check out the gallery for photo's of the view.

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
It's a great job (wish it paid more) but you can't have everything. Book a room soon, they are filling up quickly.

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
02/26
FINALLY!!!
Lisa and I did a few miles today up at boyle park on the bikes. It is the first time this year that we have been on any of our bikes. It felt good to be twisting between the trees. Couldn't do more for getting ready for an open house today. More will come though!!!
