Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
11/26
6 mile bike ride - Took the family out along with 4 girls 10 or under on a slow ride one girl crashed about 3/4 of the way into the ride and I had a nice little 1.5 mile sprint to the car. No real injuries except maybe a little pride.
.6 mile hike at Oak Mountain State Park with Lisa and a couple of 10 year olds. Nice hike to the nature center.
Tonight I did a small workout:
3 X 30 Cruches
3 X 15 Push-ups
Driving home tomorrow.

Nope, BamaDave was runnin' in Georgia!
I need to get my kids down to Oak Mountain. Actually, I need to get a bike, so I can get my girls out riding more than they get to do. Especially my 10 year-old, who is not very active! I like all of the family activities you guys do.

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
11/30
5k+ run
I did a new route today since my normal one has some construction issues. This one is a little less hilly (240 ft of elevation gain) but is a couple of tenths of a mile longer.
It was cold 27F (-3C) but no wind and I was dressed appropriatly
time 29.31
HR min-85 max-172 avg-148
I don't know what's up with the heart rate min. I usually am down at about 55-60. Maybe it jumped when I stepped outside in the cold and I started the monitor.

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
Bama - you need to get a bike so you can make the next logical step to triathlons. There is a walking trail that is about 6 miles long, out and back down off 280 (near a nice looking mall, I'll try to find out the name for it) makes a nice place to run. They do allow bikes but I found it a little crowded on a holiday weekend for that.
Lisa and I have found that putting the 9 year old on her bike and doing rollerblades ourselves makes for a good workout where we can all stay together. The rollerblades are a real good thigh workout. Lisa has major skills on them.

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
12/30
Exactly one month since my last real run! December always stinks for training for me and this year was no exception. Oh well, I ran my hilly 5k this morning in about 30 minutes, not bad considering my lack of training lately. Towards the end my knee was really hurting. I may need to go back to the bigger brace for a while.

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
give those dumbbell thrusters a try when you have 5 minutes to spare Joe, I think you'll like 'em.
Happy New Year to you, Lisa, & family!

Re: ODB\'s sporatic training log!
Wow, and if you went this morning, you missed the beautiful outdoor weather this afternoon!
I figured it was sinful to go to the gym today, but somehow I flitted away the afternoon and now it's dark... so I'm doomed to indoors.
