My bulking training is now over. This is my new cutting log. JP, Kaiser or any other mod, could you please move this over to the training forum? Thanks.
My after bulk/starting cut stats:
GYMRAT
ouf.. 10 days of guests/parties/visits in a row just ended for me.. (but I maintained my weight because I knew I'd be joining you and others for the cutting..) so here goes for me too.
Yeah, I'm in too though it won't start till I finish Barely Legal next week. I topped 195 on the scale yesterday and for someone used to seeing numbers in the 170s that was a bit of a shock. It's no 210 but man do I want my pants to fit again!
I look forward to following along with this log as with your last, Terry. What lifting program are you planning for the cutting phase?

Wow. thanks everyone! I'm certainly happy to see so many others embarking on this journey with me. We can definitely do it! Deserve, I'll follow along with you too even though you're going to be putting on.
LD - I'm jumping right in. Kind of scary but I figure if I keep my nutrient timing right I'll be ok. Obviously couldn't do it with bulking, but I think I'll be ok with cutting. Let's see... since you helped me with the example of Adam's (the eating "diet" I'm following) here's a sample of my new daily intake. I guess you don't count cals on Adams:
6:45am: 2 hb eggs; small handfull blueberries; 3 turkey sausages
11:30ish: 2 slices whole grain/wheat bread with 3 slices turkey; approx. 4 "slices" lettuce; 2 slices tomato; small handful baby carrots; small handful cauliflower; small handful grapes or strawberries
2:00ish: chunk of pepperjack cheese; 1 string cheese stick; 1/4 cup sunflower seeds minus shells; 2 hb eggs
5:30ish (if workout day): 1 optima slimfast sipped during workout; 1 scoop whey protein after workout; 1 scoop creatine with 35 carbs PWO; 1 tbls glutamine
6:30ish: 4 whole eggs; 2 slices chopped green pepper; 2-4 slices chopped tomato; small handful mushrooms; 1 slice cheddar cheese (basically an omelete); 1 can/bowl of some veggie (corn/asparagus/peas/green beans/etc.)
8:30ish: 1 chunk cheddar cheese; 2 tbls natty pb
other supps not mentioned above include CLA; fish oil caps; a fiber supp prior to lunch; multi vitamin; L-arginine; oh and I'm drinking right at 1 gallon of water a day.
I'm following Chad Waterbury's 10x3 for fat loss.
Here's tonight's workout which was to be 75% of 1RM:
deads: 288 lbs for 5 sets.... then I hurt my lower back! Yikes! Something wasn't right at all. I stretched it out and held off for a bit then... yes, stupid me I went back and finished the 5 remaining sets but with 200 lbs. I could do 'em but it wasn't right. Gotta watch that form! chins: body weight plus 50lbs. front squats: 128 lbs. this is little over 50% of max just because my back was still not right decline bb bench: 223 lbs. This was perfect weight but boy was I sore after 30 reps!
So that's it. I'm doing HIIT in the mornings based on CW's suggestions, some jumping rope some exercise bike and I'll toss in some rowing.
Thanks again for all the comments and here's to a great year and the fat falling off of us all
That's pretty shitty hurting your back doing a regular workout. At least when you were shooting for 1rm you would have had something to blame!! Do you think you were overconfident and not really paying attention with the lower weight, or just some fluke injury?
Great job on the bulk again. Looking foward to seeing the journy to rippedness. How long do you plan on cutting? Chad only recommends this particular program for a month, do you have anything in mind for a followup?
Being a little behind the times with the posting...your pics look good. You can tell that the majority of the fat that you gained is in the midsection. So after a couple weeks you're going to "look" more bodybuilderish again. Your upper torso still looks relatively defined so your new sexy muscles ought to pop out pretty damned quick I'd think.
good job on what you've already accomplished\good luck on what's to come.
So your bulking at 210 are you pal?well good luck!
Gymrat you should have gained a little more weight first you would be a alot bigger when you had finished cutting, maybe take yourself up to 225lbs,i would have liked to see your body at that level.I feel you could be alot bigger than you are for sure, but i guess you already have decided on the cutting thing.Good job anyway hope
you get get super ripped!

Looks like you're off to a great start with Adam's diet, GR. You sure like cheese.
Hope your back's okay. I did something similar several weeks ago with RDLs and I could have kicked myself. Lesson learned!

Gobbla - it was sheer overconfidence. Figured since I was "only" doing 75% of 1RM that it was no problem. Uh, note to self:hey dumbass... keep your mind right. Nice little reminder anyway, it's much better today so I must have just tweaked it or something. Gotta be careful. *edit* forgot to tell you that I'm not sure what I'm going to do after the 10x3. I think CW suggested one of his programs but I'm going to have to do some more research.
BB- I sure would have liked to get up to 225 but I wanted to be cut by the Retreat date and had to start here in January. I haven't heard of dessicated liver tablets. I might do a search to find out more about them.
This thread will be cool to follow. I see you are eating lots of cheese compared to your other log. I don't know much about it so here is the dumbass question: Any particular reason you are eating so much cheese?
By the way, congrats on your bulk. I should have paid more attention to your diet before and tried to follow it.

Adam's diet says that when you're looking for a snack that you can actually eat as much cheese as you like. Lots of eggs too. I love cheese and the variety available. Easy to cut off a chunk and take it with too.

That's good news, my cousin works with a cheese distributor and I never have less than 4 lbs on my fridge all the time. Right now I'm trying to get rid of 3 lbs of feta and 2 of gouda.
me it's the Brie and Camembert that I have to resist.. and eat the 4% cheddar or 1% cottage cheese.. I don't mind those.. as long as I don't think of the good stuff.
Your's probably won't. You're probably getting a good amount of calories. I'm getting 1400 on non-lifting days and 1700 on lifting days. I feel lucky that I can get out of bed...
Man, LD, those are seriously low cal counts. When I was cutting last summer, I was doing 2000 to 2200 and felt hungry and drained all the time. Can't imagine what 1400 must be like.

Hey, awesome progress bulking GR, the pics look fantastic, definately see some more muscle there on an already solid frame. Still lifting like a machine while cutting, hope your backs doing alright now, and keep it up.

Dang, Mary, that was quite an unmotivating thing to say. I think you owe GR an apology.
Regardless, it's great to see your new log, GR! Keep up the great work, and I can't wait to met you at the retreat this spring. And, enjoy Adam's Diet. I love cheese and eggs!!!! YUM!
