Ok, JP, I'm going to be e-mailing you to ask about having this moved to the training log forum. In the meantime.....

Starting tomorrow morning I will begin a bulking phase. I've retooled my diet and will be doing Berardi's Massive Eating reloaded. I will be doing Waterbury's ABBH for my routine. I plan to bulk until the end of the year and then start cutting on Jan. 1.
My bulking goal is to end up at ~ 220 lbs by year end with the ultimate goal of being around 190~195 lbs with approx. 8% bf by next May.

My current stats:
age 31
height 5'9"
weight 175 lbs.
body fat 12.2% - definitely not as low as I'd have liked it considering I just finished "cutting"

As of today Sunday 8/28
neck 16"
chest 42 5/8"
waist 31 3/4"
shoulders(around the "cap/side delts)50 1/4"
left upper arm 15 1/2"
right " " 15 1/4"
left forearm 12 1/8"
right " " 12 1/2"
right thigh 22 1/2"
left " " 22 1/2"
right calf 14"
left " " 14"

You'll see in my pics that I'm NOT at all happy with that little bit of flab around the belly button. In fact I'm kind of pissed about it, so please be kind.
Here are some beginning pics:

aw, crap. I forgot to add my bulking diet:

meal one:
2 jumbo hard boiled eggs
3 turkey sausage links
1/4 cup blueberries

meal two:
1 can tuna w/fat free mayo
4 strips beef jerky
1 string cheese stick

meal three:
1 chicken breast
3 oz baby carrots
6 strawberries

meal four:
4 strips beef jerky
2 jumbo hard boiled eggs
1/2 cup cauliflower
1 fruit cup

meal five pre workout:
1 medium banana

meal six post workout:
8 oz glass skim milk w/ 1.5 scoops whey protein

meal seven:
1 chicken breast/steak/turkey/lean pork
3/4 cup long grain brown rice w/salsa
1/2 cup veggies

meal eight:
3/4 cup oatmeal

meal nine prior to bedtime:
1/2 cup lowfat cottage cheese

This all totals out to 2230 cals. 73.5 fat 169.5 carbs and 206.5 protein.

Next week I'll add another 250 cals and so on each week until I reach my "Berardi formula" appointed calorie goal. I should end up eating about 3400-3500 cals a day.
I think next week I'll add some peanuts and the following week some all natural peanut butter.

Thanks for reading this far guys/gals.

I agree with nbj, your legs are solid, as are your shoulders and pecs, good work man!

As for the diet, are you taking any supplements? Everything looks good though. You might be able to use some extra eggs in there thoug, IMO.

Definitely not screwing with you. That's basically what I want to look like in a year. Muscles and low bodyfat.

thanks for the remarks guys!

CAChief - I'm going to add some more eggs in the coming weeks. I wanted to leave room for adding.

bobby - I wouldn't go so far as to say that, but I have really been working on them.

Ninja - that makes me feel real good that someone wants to look like me. thanks!

Not much. I've been going mostly for the mid range weight and slightly higher reps due to cutting lately. LOL! I have to laugh when I say cutting, look at that stomach!!!
that's the ONLY place I carry fat. My bf readings on the other locations were like 4 and 6 ..... I digress,
I'm squatting about 225 as of last time. Humerous huh? Let me get back to you on that. When this (hopefully jp? ) gets moved to the training log I'll keep a more updated weight/rep on there. I anticipate maxing out (with CW's 5 rep scheme) at about 100lbs more than that figure, so maybe little over 320# or so??? But again, I'll post later on actual results. Funny you should mention that though, a few years back when I was younger and was lifting at a gym I would go in and do leg presses on the hip sled (now I know it's not squats folks, but I was young then) and I had to have 3 guys spot me. I hit 1,035 lbs. for 8 reps on numerous occasions. It was cool, everybody would stop and watch. EGO? you bet. But again, I was young, dumb and ah, well.... you get the idea.

I forgot to answer your question before CA... I'm currently taking 5 g of creatine everyday, 2 caps of L-arginine and 2 caps of CLA. I will be adding here in the near future ZMASS PM I found a good price on-line and I'd like the testosterone boost.

Thanks again for the replies.

Great job gymrat. You really aren't carrying that much fat in your midsection compared to your weight and mass. Like the armband too...

Hey bro! thanks for the post. I know you're bulking now too. Same routine too! Training Girl and I are both starting the bulking phase today too. We're going to keep each other motivated to eat. You'll have to get in on it too. We'll have to compare ourselves as the weeks go by! I plan to log my stats and weights every week or so.

gymrat,
Damn. You look a lot bigger in your pics than your stats would indicate. I am a few inches taller and have many measurements close to yours and don't look nearly as good. Your thighs are impressive. Us long legged guys have a problem getting that look. The back and shoulders are awesome. You are looking like a real mofo, my man. Keep up the great work.

WOW! Dude, you look awesome!

I was going to say what Mahler said, your stats don't look like they match your body. Did you measure in the right areas?..lol.

I'll look at your diet after I clean up the drool from my keyboard..lol.

Mahler, TG, newlife, and all.... You guys are being too kind. It means a lot to get such great feedback from people that know what they're talking about. My wife always said I looked good, but she's got to say that stuff, right? LOL!

During my cutting, I lost about 1/2" off my arms. I think they're my best body part by far. I hopefully can get back up there again. Nah... I want to get bigger. Let's shoot for 16.5 or 17" Let's see 220lbs.? I CAN DO IT!!!!!!!!

Not too kind at all. You did the hard work and it shows. We are very close in stats (and looks). I'm almost 31, 5'9", and 196lbs, but have more BF% (and a bit more hair, but shaven short) You make up for that in ink...

That diet should really bulk you up and it will be cool to see your pics change. Better purchase that wide-angle lens!

Gymrat. you are making me ill - I second Nick's initial comment. Like Newlife, your numbers match up very closely to mine in just about every area - except the BF% and waist part (yeah, I'm working on it ). What I don't get is your thigh measurement - did you take it mid-thigh? Because you look like you have a huge amount of LBM there, but the numbers don't seem to show it (comparing with mine). Are you sure about the measurement?

Nothing much else to add except good luck. You help us show that not all midwesterners are fat f**ks.

PS: I moved it to the Training subforum for ya.

Kaiser, thanks for moving the thread and thanks for the compliments.

yeah, I measured right at mid thigh, flexed. I hope that's right. Maybe it's just the way my legs are turned in the picture. I never did think they were that big, in fact I always thought of myself as having bird legs. LOL! they're strong like crazy, but this is the first time I've heard the words "huge" and "massive" in the same sentence with my legs!! Feels good though, especially since I've been working on 'em. Now that I'm eating to gain size, I'm really going to hit 'em HARD, along with everything else.

Thanks again.

Well, they are defined then GR.

Question: are you unhappy with your calves? I ask because there (as in many other measurements) you have the same size as me - I have genetically small calves and am limited in working them with too much volume due to foot issues, so I am stuck with 14" as well. I almost want to go back to 70s style shorter shorts so I don't look like I have bird legs when you only see below the knee. LOL.

Agreed. I want to work them really hard this bulking phase too. No way I can leave them like they are. Definitely a weak area of mine.

Alright, today was about as shitty a day as I've had in a long while.
Fortunately I was still able to get a good workout in.
3 set 8 reps tonight on Waterbury's ABBH
squats 200 (working my way back up from cutting)
incline db presses 75's
chins with a 25 strapped to me
upright hi rows 70
skullcrushers 80
bb curls 80

Felt a great pump after the workout. Only damn good thing today.
I am proud of myself for still hitting the weights hard and I didnt miss one meal today.
