GR, on your single legs are you putting your back leg on a bench as in a Bulgarian squat?

Either way 130lbs is pretty impressive!

Chris - yeah, I'm using my bench to put my non-working leg on. Damn if my balance with all that weight isn't shitty. ha!

Ok. tonight's workout was pretty good. Sweated up a storm and breath'n hard.

8 reps, 4 sets, mid weight

sumo deads 220 for one set, wasn't enough, uped to 240??? Can I do that yet??? Yes. 3 sets at 240.
bb shrugs 240 also

good mornings 80
decline db press 90's -could easily have done more but that's as high as my db set goes.

rope pressdown 70
db preacher curl 40

I'm up on all my weight from last week which makes me real proud.

Great job on the workout tonight!

And, oh...I thought you had your non-working leg out in front of you in the air...lol....seriously, that is what I thought.

Let's hear it for those awesome sumo deads! Great job on those, and upping the weights.

Hey, my balance sucks, too... even when I'm sober and walking on a flat surface.

TG, nonworking leg out in front is how single leg squats are illustrated in the BoM, so your conclusion isn't so far off.

He's right T. I've just always performed them with my leg up behind me resting on a bench. I need to get these down before I move on to the non-working leg out in front of you version.

Thanks for the thoughts guys. I'm convinced that the main reason I stick with this program is because I know I have to check in with you all and be held accountable. Definitely a good thing for me. ............. oh, and I guess the results/gains I'm getting don't hurt much either.
I had to wear a suit today because of an interview and my sport coat is pretty tight when buttoned.

Doing Bulgarian/Single leg squats does work your balance like you wouldn't believe! In the previous program I was doing I had a hard time working up to the 20lb dumbbells on the single leg squats. I can not imagine doing it with 130 lbs on my back!

Keep up the hard work GR!

Oooh, a suit -- you were looking really metro-GQ today!

Seriously, though, I hope the interview went well. With any luck I'll have one soon, too. And the clothes don't lie -- in some ways I think they're a better yardstick of changes than the scale is.

I agree RB. Thanks.

I'll let you all know about the job. Should know tomorrow or Friday at the latest.

No workout today. Was supposed to be HIIT, abs, calves, forearms but I worked 11 hours today and am wiped out.

I'll get back on track tomorrow.

15 reps low weight routine tonight:

SLDL 80 lbs
front squats 120

lat pulldown 110
db pullover 50

concentration curl 35
close grip bench 120

Pretty good pump. Just for shits and giggles I measured my arms after the workout. 16 3/8" WOW. Now that's a pump! whew!

I like looking at your low-weight workouts -- it's much closer to the amounts I can lift (not for 15 reps, though!).

Whoa! That's nearly a full inch on your arms since three weeks ago. Way cool. I bet you'll be grinning and flexing for the Mrs. tonight.

Great job!

LOL yeah, I did tell her about the measurement.... not really something to brag about since it was right after the workout, but I was just kinda curious.. lol...

Anyway, for those of you that read this regularly, I GOT THE JOB! so as soon as I start they'll be no more posting during the day as I'll be out working in the field.
I'll still post at night though.
I'll have to change around my routine and eating schedule because for at least a couple months I'll be working 10a-6:30p so I'll have to work out in the morning. Hope it doesnt screw me up too badly. Just have to adjust.
Anyway, that's all for now. off day today (and a cheat day just cause I'm celebrating the new job and damn it I'm bulking anyway! - ha!)

Congrats from me too on the new jog, GR. Way to go. What are you going to be doing? Don't worry about the workouts - it will take a little adjustment but once you're in the new routine, everything will click. Would write more but gotta go eat - just saw your menu from 9/17 and I seriously need to do some catching up.

Alright, it's been 4 weeks since I started. I took measurements this morning. All numbers are cold. Haven't worked out yet today.

I am simply AMAZED at what this routine and eating routine can do for you if you're dedicated and always thinking. Here's my simply amazing numbers! :

Sunday 9/25 weeks in:

neck: 16.5 UP 1/2"!!

chest: 43 1/16 UP 7/16"!! That's dame near 1/2 an inch in 2 weeks!!

waist: 33" up (whoa..) 1 1/4" Yeeikes!!
Gotta keep calm about that...

shouders: 51 1/2" UP 1 1/4"!!!! Holy smokes!

left bi: 15 7/8" UP 1/4" !!!
right bi: 15 5/8" UP 1/4" !!

left forearm: 12 9/16" UP 7/16" !!
right forearm: 12 3/4" UP 1/4"!!

left thigh: 23 1/4" UP 1/2" !!!! in two weeks!!!
right thigh: 23 1/4" UP 1/2" !!!!!

left calve: 14 1/4" UP 1/16" damn I wish they weren't soooo stubborn
right calve: 14 1/4" UP 1/8" caught up with my left one.

body fat: 12.5% up 1% but that's to be expected I guess.
weight: 183 as of yesterday

I've noticed that I don't hold bf anywhere but my belly. Weird. I can still see my obliques just fine. It's all right in the front. My arm and leg bf checks were like 3 and 5 mm so I'm not getting any fat in the arms or legs. How's that for some size gains in arms and legs with no fat. I about fell over when I took the measurements!!

I'm so proud of myself!!!

Thanks for all the support everybody!!! I'm uping my calories to 3670 today for this week. I'm GOING to hit that 220 mark!!!

YAY!!!! YOU are doing a great job...so proud of ya

Not too weird your bf is in your belly. Tends to be where a lot of men get it. And me too...lol...another thing I guess that makes me "one of the guys".

I'm so happy for you. I read your log and it reminds me to eat!

I had another member of this forum point out to me that I'm not doing the ABBH by Waterbury. I'm doing the Total Body Training. I feel like such a dumbass. I don't even know the name of the routine I'm working. Shheeeeshh... what a dumb shit.

Anyway, tonight was 2 sets, 8 reps, fairly heavy weight.

standard deads 220
db overhead press 70's

cleans 130 - thought I was gonna die.
incline db bench 80's

one arm cable pressdown 35
seated db curls 40's

Ah, well, you put up this log to get feedback, so... guess you got it! You've been working out faithfully, you've been moving an impressive amount of weight, so who cares what the name of the program is? It's obviously working well, as your latest measurements showed. So is it such a bad thing to be a dumbass with heeyuuuge muscles?

Seriously, man, your workouts look great, you're getting bigger. Great job!

tonight's workout:
12 reps; medium weight

weighted dips w/45lbs strapped on
bb rows 130 lbs

db split squats w/ 45's
upright rows 80lbs

db lateral raises 25's
bb curls 60

Felt pretty good, I can tell I'm getting stronger with the weights I'm now using with a fairly higher rep scheme.

Wow, good work! You've gone up on the split squats. There's nothing better to make your legs into jello, right?

I was reviewing your log, and this has to be one of the most incredibly varied programs I've seen. I have to hand it to Chad Waterbury -- I imagine it would be tough to get bored on this one.

Great job. And I like the new sig line. Gave me a good laugh!

Today's weekly weigh in..........

187.5 lbs.!! Very happy.

5 weeks in and to meet my goal of 220 by year end I need to gain 2.5lbs a week. I'm right on track. Today I should weigh 187.5 and I do.
Man! Getting all those calories in each day is one of the hardest things I've had to do. Yesterday I was eating and there was no hunger at all...... I just kept going and going.... gotta feed this machine ( ) of mine.
