Wednesday, September 21
Hang Clean and Press
5x5 @ 115
Chinups
5, 5, 5, 5, 3 @ (+15)
Good Mornings
2x8 @ 145
Weighted Situps
2x10 @ (+25)
It's pretty toasty today, evidenced by the eye candy lounging by the outdoor pool. I refuse to go out there, or into any of the pools for that matter, until I can see my abs.

But, Nick, the pool will be frozen in February!
Again, nice work on the numbers. So I have to get to 115 tonight, eh? Damn this competitive streak ...

Thanks for the picture Bobby. There are more on the MU website, but there aren't any people in them.
TG, I hope you like guys that juice and just bench and curl. Oh, and grunt like mad. We have a ton of those here.
Rob, did you hit 115? It's fuuuuuun!
Well all, I am off to the great land that is Dallas Tx. If I somehow have wireless at Texas Stadium, I'll be posting, but for the most part, I won't be back until Sunday night. That is if I can get out of there Sunday. I just want to get my round of golf in.
This also means a missed workout C. I may try to do some pushups and whatever Saturday, but I doubt it. Let's hope I don't binge too badly, I've done enough crappy eating already this week.

Yeah, Nick, I did. Great workout tonight - sent you an e-mail with the results - pretty close to yours. I REALLY felt great on the HCP tonight. Actually all the lifts just clicked - one of those great nights!!
Have a great trip, Nick. Hope Rita doesn't interfere too much.
Rob

New page!
Thanks, guys. Today's workout sucked balls.
Monday, September 26th
Front Squats
5, 4, 4, 4, 3 @ 195
Reached the breaking point here. I knew there wasn't much higher I could go.
Incline DB Bench
5x5 @ 75
What started out at 80, ended up at 75. I didn't realize that I had the incline set too high, and I couldn't get the 80s into position. Two sets into the 75s I figured it out, but by then it was a little too late.
Overhand DB Rows
2x8 @ 75
Split Squats
2x6 @ 35
I am dead tired, which may have a part in my crappy workout. I haven't slept nearly as much as normal, and was in a sleep deficit this weekend instead of my normal surplus. I would love to take a nap now, but I have a test at 4. I'm going to sleep afterwards, I guarantee it.
I got to play golf in a hurricane. It was fun, save for how badly I played.

Nick, don't worry about it. 195 and 75s are still pretty sweet in my book. I reached my limit on the squat last week at 185. Still not sure what I'm going to do tonight with 'em. I think I will try again at 185 but if my form sucks as much as it did last week, I'm going to drop to 175. Nice to be done with Workout A, huh? I have found it the most challenging (and least enjoyable) of the three. But then again, I frickin' hate front squats - always have, always will ...

Yeah, but I got myself pretty pumped up for those 80s. Oh well.
It does feel weird to be almost done. I need to start looking at phase III more closely. I'm going to have to find a partner for the max efforts, or be begging for a spot all the time.

Yeah, Nick, I was wondering about that too. We should ask Mahler and the other solo Phase 3 guys how they managed.
If it makes you feel any better - my final Workout A sucked big time too. I'll fire you an e-mail about that though.

I was thinking of emailing them too. Glad that I am not alone in thinking that way.
Well, this workout wasn't much better
Hang Clean and Press
3x5 @ 115; 4, 3 @ 125
I'm such an idiot. After set #3 I wondered why it felt like I was going to be able to get all five sets. Duh. I had the same weight as last time on there. Those extra 10 lbs made quite a difference.
Chinups
5, 5, 5, 5, 3.5 @ (+15)
I was at least hoping for four on that last set, but I got about halfway up and stopped. Crap, but it's better than when I started.
Good Mornings
2x8 @ 155
Weighted Situps
2x12 @ (+25)
The music was actually good today. That's something you won't hear from me very often.

Friday, September 30
The last day of September and the last day of Phase II.
Elevated Deadlifts
5, 4, 4, 4, 3 @ 265
I need to work on my leg drive. I have one bad rep for every two good ones. It's almost like my legs sometimes don't want to bend and make my back do all of the work.
Dips
5, 4, 4, 4, 3 @ (+45)
BIG PLATE. I got crazy and went for the 10 lb increase. I was dying to put a 45 pounder on my dip belt, and I figured now was a good time to do it. Impressed with the amount of reps I was able to do; I was figuring a really quick dropoff to sets of 3 and 2.
Reverse Hypers
2x6 @ (+35)
Seated Rows (Close Grip)
2x8 @ 165
I'm fairly satisfied after this month. Made some decent/noticeable size gains. My mom even commented when I was home for a little bit last weekend, but then said "Why?" However, maybe because the book promised such big gains, I'm a little disappointed I didn't get bigger. Especially through my arms. My chest and back got huge, but my arms hardly grew.
Starting PIII on Monday, and I have a pretty good idea of what weights I need to use, so I doubt any testing for my 1RM will be necessary. I am also going to keep the M-W-F schedule, because I figure with the amount that I eat, and especially the amount I sleep, I should be OK.
I'm already thinking about my plans after PIV. I need to get through these two months first.
