LOL. S'okay - we could use a Harley (of either variety) in the neighbourhood.

Okay, I slacked yesterday. Today won't be much better. As for yesterday:

Diet

Protein: 800cal (200g)
Carbs: 32cal (8g)
Fat: 1133cal (126g)
Total calories: 2005

Training - N/A

As for today--and for many days to come--I'm working 9a-3p, then 430p-930p. The break between isn't enough to get in a full workout given travel times, food prep, and dealing with the dog. I'm either going to get in two mini-workouts on these days--one before and one after the 9a-3p shift--or I'll be getting up around 6a to get in a full workout before everything. Anything substantial is out for today since I'm back in at the crack of dawn tomorrow, so hopefully I can get in a quick round of sandbag deadlifts and shower before the 430p shift today. Tomorrow I have a five-mile run after the 6a-8a shift, so that'll be nice.

Follow all that? Me neither...

You're still hanging in here. Good work Ben, especially being so busy. Many would use that as an excuse to slack off (not me of course )

Thanks, man. I tell ya, the keto part isn't hard. The hard part is finding carbs on the weekends around my place. I just don't have them in a readily-consumable form. Gee, guess I'll just have to walk the four blocks to the best bakery in town, eh?

I wish I could say I'm making progress as far as body composition is concerned, but I don't feel that I am. My athleticism has improved significantly since I started running--distance at first and recently adding sprint work and plyometrics. I am now running five miles without really thinking about it. Found out I actually did close to eight miles last week instead of seven. Sprint form is returning. Rope jumping has returned with ease thanks to the running. Haven't lifted as much as I would like, but I've maintained the big stuff with sandbags and bodyweight stuff.

I dunno. I'm just about ready to move to Long Island or Little Rock and say to Mejia or JP, "I'm yours. Take me." Of course, I mean that in the most platonic sense. Just having a hard time figuring out what's missing. I'm already doing some kind of training four days per week (Mon, Tue, Fri, Sat/Sun). I'm hitting keto like clockwork every Wednesday morning if not sooner and dropping out Friday night or Saturday afternoon depending on what carby temptations are offered, but even then, I'm keeping my calories in check on the weekends instead of carbing up.

Damn, sorry, didn't mean for this to turn into a bitchfest (I thought Lilithfair was over)

Diet (before the brownies tonight)

Protein: 667cal (167g)
Carbs: 16cal (4g)
Fat: 959cal (107g)
Subtotal calories: 1678

Training

2 rounds (60RI) rope jumping to failure (which is always my rotator cuffs)

3 x 10 mid-thigh-high box jumps (60RI)

5 tuck chin-ups

15min walk with the dog

5 tuck chin-ups

Really tight on time with the new work schedule. Looks like I'll have to start hitting with the early crowd again (did it in college for awhile and loved it).

Maybe you should up your cals by 250-500/day for a week just to shock your body?

One other thought too is are you geting enough sleep with your hectic schedule?

As for finding more carbs for the weekends, I've got two words for you:

"Fettucine Alfredo"

Hope the weekend carb up goes well

I'm kinda leery about the caloric increase. We'll see. As for sleep, I'm golden there. Maybe I need to get better sleep over time instead of just the past few days. Mmmmmmmmmm... fettucini alfredo... On my way to work, I'm stopping by the bakery for a loaf of whole wheat sourdough bread

Training - ~6mi. run

~.75mi walking warm-up

Total time: 1:03:39 (incl. 3min water break at midpoint)
Time in zone (192/160): 54:17
Avg HR: 174
kcal/fat: 1312, 25%

~.75mi walking cool-down

Nice recovery run. Had enough in the tank to sort of sprint the last block, though only my hip flexors were working and no hamstring, so my knees came up too high, and I didn't push off like I should have. Sprinting on jello. Another eight-miler next weekend, and since I'm starting to train in the morning, and since my running partner is going to be out of town this weekend, hoping to get in at least a 5K, if not a 10K, Wednesday morning.

Diet

Protein: 803cal (201g)
Carbs: 22cal (6g)
Fat: 1092cal (121g)
Total calories: 1963

Rock.

Training

15 reps ~30yd sprint with 60RI (120RI after reps 5 and 10)

I'm having to come up with lightning-fast workouts in case I miss the morning window (like today). HIIT works well for this. Not sure about lifting, and endurance running is definitely out. Still rolling almost two months in, but hopefully the sleep thing will kick in soon with the mirror.

That's awesome, Ben. There are few people out there that could do 50 chinups! Seriously. I'm glad I'm not you tomorrow though ...

I'm lost, but that's nothing new right now.

Diet

Protein: 806cal (201g)
Carbs: 26cal (6g)
Fat: 959cal (107g)
Total calories: 1837

Training - Mark this day in history as I am skipping a scheduled workout. I hate to do it, but my schedule is catching up to me. I'm supposed to do an eight-mile run in the morning, but with my running partner out of town, I may instead make it a five- or six-mile run with some ungodly hills thrown in. Maybe at the end of each mile, I'll do some pushups or squats or crunches or chin-ups if I can find a low, strong tree branch. Should be interesting, but if I push it tomorrow, I can enjoy the Greek Festival two blocks away all afternoon

Very true, though I tell ya, the only thing I hate about this endurance running stuff IS the carbs. Make me feel slugging and bloated. The party's been going since Thursday, but today is my only chance to enjoy it since I'm working most of tomorrow as well. We've had some of the chefs and coordinators on-air over the past couple weeks. I am SO going to be broke from buying food after today

Only the six-mile loop today. Didn't start carbs last night. Didn't sleep much since I got called into work at 5:30am this morning. Sprinted across about half the intersections on my route (started out too late)--I'd say at least a dozen wind sprints throughout. Yeah, I'm gassed. Maybe I can make it up sometime this week. Or not. We'll see. Gotta plan a little better with this new schedule.

Wow - a week-long Greek Festival. You must have a large Greek community in Charlotte. Ours here is just a day long.

Six miles is nothing to sneeze at ... 10km. I've only run 10KM once in my life and it almost crippled me. LOL. Don't fret too much about the schedule - take your time and work around it. I'm sure you'll get into the swing of things before long.

Yeah, they're all over the place. Awesome food. Of course, I ate too much.

Diet

Protein: 810cal (203g)
Carbs: 12cal (3g)
Fat: 861cal (96g)
Total calories: 1731

Wow, that's low, though that may become semi-customary if I continue early workouts. Today, started taking one ephedra pill per day during the week in an attempt to kickstart another round of fat loss since I seem to have hit a plateau.

Training

20 x ~30yd sprints, 60 RI (120RI every 5 sprints, during which I did 10 incline push-ups).

Up at 6am to get this in before everything today, and I think I can get used to this as long as I keep my workouts short and intense. Obviously, it was easier to be awake and alert at work this morning, though tonight, I'm pretty groggy. Good thing it doesn't take much to run this show.

Okay, actually put my diet together early today, so I can go ahead and knock this out.

Diet

Protein: 823cal (206g)
Carbs: 15cal (4g)
Fat: 1027cal (114g)
Total calories: 1912

Training

Another... fifty... fucking... chin-ups...

20 x 2, 60RI + 10 x 1, 30RI

Just couldn't take it all the way to 25 x 2 with no fuel in the system this morning. Still got them all in, though.

Those chinups are awesome, Ben. I can't imagine doing a set of 20, let alone following them up with another set of 20 and a set of 10. Nice work - all the better given your lack of fuel.

You still doing the sandbag work?

PS Are you going to get hit by Ophelia? Stay safe.

The chin-ups aren't too terribly bad by doing them in pairs, but still, the fatigue lasts a good 24-36 hours. I haven't touched the sandbags in a couple weeks as Mondays are sprints, Tuesdays have become groove-greasing chin-ups, and I blew off this past Friday. I imagine I'll pick them up this Friday as part of a full-body blowout.

No hurricane here. Too far inland. Just getting some high clouds and some breeze, but thanks

What do you mean by doing them in pairs? Do you do a pair and then rest followed by another pair, etc. What's your rest interval?

Glad about the hurricane. My ignorance of east coast geography is somewhat astounding.
