Thanks K. Man...I'm almost sorry I stopped running for so long. HIIT was killer this morning. Especially with that mouth full of crow.

Since I can't lift...I've decided to do HIIT every morning this week...unless my body tells me different.
Yesterday's HIIT session
1:1 3.9/9.5 20 minutes
It about kilt me. The rests just weren't long enough.
This morning's session
2:1 3.9/10 20 minutes
Worked out better even though I was hitting it a bit harder.
I can tell that HIIT hits different muscle fiber..if soreness is any indicator. I never get sore running...and I'm a little sore from this.

3rd day in a row of HIIT. I'm a bit sore...I almost skipped it this a.m. But how will I ever look like the hulk if I give up so easily...
I did cut it short. Only did 15 minutes.
2:1 3.9/10

You are the man. I cannot bring myself to do HIIT right now.

I'm really proud of you, bro. Your new devotion to HIIT is inspiring ....
And I need it, since I blew off HIIT yesterday in favour of hunting the mall for a new MP3 player ....

No not yet. This will be an early b-day present for me. I wasn't going to get one yet but my old crappy one finally bit the dust and I'm presently music-less at the gym. Not good. I'll probably go with the iPod Mini 4GB. Just have to find one that's priced right - I'm thinking they should come down in price as soon as the Nano is released next week, but who knows.

Rested Thursday. And back at HIIT this morning.
Did 20 minutes 2:1 3.9/10
Seemed MAYBE a little easier. MAYBE.
Interesting thing...I jumped on the scales after HIIT. The same scales I weighed 176 on Monday. this morning...174.5 I lost 2.5 POUNDS in 5 days. Wow.
I did get a hair cut this week...you think?

Yes, it was clearly the haircut ...
And just to correct your math, bro, 176 minus 174.5 is 1.5 pounds. Not so bad. That could be just water weight or time-of-day weight. Once you're back on the weights and eating more, it will come back. Don't fret.
How's the pulled muscle feeling? Hope the rest is serving its purpose!

It was a bunch of hair....oh...1.5
Yeah...that's what I meant. Must be my Jethro Bo Dean math skills rising to the top.
Not sure about the pulled muscle. Honestly, the only time I even knew it was pulled was when I went for a chin up. I haven't tried one since last Friday so I dunno. Hopefully it's healed. But ...doesn't much matter. I'll be out of town on business all next week so I wont be able to get back to any real lifting until after that. So I'll just continue the HIIT next week. Job is getting in the way. I guess it will be healed real good by the time I do any lifting. I guess that's the sivler lining.

Damn this working for a living! Have a good trip.
Have you noticed that we both signed up for this forum in June 2004? Coincidence? I don't think so.

Indeed. We're only 7 member #'s apart. We probably signed up within days if not hours of each other.

Well...I still haven't started back into S2B. Been in Houston this week..had to evacuate due to Rita. I did run every day and twice yesterday. (12 miles over the last 3 days)
Did a little lifting this a.m. since I'm back in town.
Incline DB Bench - 40x6, 50x4, 60x3 - 50x5,60x4, 65x3
Few chins 2 x 5
And ran another mile.
Pulled muscle seems to be healed.

Hey Jemmie, welcome back. Glad to hear the pulled muscle is healed up. Amazing what rest can accomplish. Makes sense to get back into the lifting slowly since you've been off for a while.

Man...been a while since I've been in here. Been away again..Houston..then doing the at home mom thing for a week. Just been running daily.
Got back to the gymn this morning. Since S2B is all screwed up...I just did a full body workout.
Warm up...10 minutes.
Ran another 10 minutes.
Deeeep squats..3 x 4 x 115
Regular squats
2 x 3 x 135
2 x 2 x 225
Hang Cleans
5 x 3 x 85
Hanging leg raises
2 x 10
Finished with some more deeeep squats 4 x 85
Pretty light workout..but first time to lift anything in like 2 weeks!
