that is a good point, phase III is when you should be upping the weight for successive sets. Although when i did phase 2, after doing the first set sometimes i noticed that i didnt start heavy enough and increased the weight.

Yeah...I know. I'm busted. I knew it wasn't according to protocol...but I just felt really good this morning and what I was lifting seemed too freakin easy. Ever felt like that?

I'll be trying it heavier to begin with next go round. Believe it or not...being on the corrective phase really screwed me up as far as strength and I really have had no idea where to start as a 5RM. But I'll be going heavier next go round. Probably 5x5x45 on dips. (or at least I'll try) and 5x5x75 on the DL's.

Those Dumbell deads are a bit awkward bringing the DB's around my knees coming up. But they don't hurt my back. I can keep good posture throughout. I suck at standard BB deadlifts. Sumos I do okay with though. Having a hard time deciding what to do when any routine calls for deads. I always destroy my low back trying ot do standard deads.

I can't stand the hang and cleans. They're uncomfortable and just don't feel right. I think it's mainly because I'm not very flexible.

Hey, didn't you feel me kicking your ass from afar, bro?

Congrats on the poundage gains. I did the same on my trip except it is squarely centred on my mid-section.

Back to the gym!!!

KCourt! You're back! Welcome bro. I knew that you would bounce all over me if I didn't work hard...so I've been hittin it hard while you were gone. Been doing my best to take in the needed calories too. Making some slooowww gain.

How was the trip!? Hope you got lots of R&R.

Strength seems to be really coming back. I enjoyed Phase II so much I hated to leave it for Phase III. But I have to tell you I liked it this morning. That wave loading is awesome.

Workout A this a.m.

Deads
1 x 4/3/2 x 80/85/90 (DB's)
1 x 4/3/2 x 85/90/95 (DB's)

Bench
1 x 4/3/2 x 135/145/155
1 x 4/3/2 x 145/155/160

(I'll be increasing beginning weights both these sets next time) 100# DB's!!

Cable Ext Rot 2 x 8 x 20
Barbell Rollouts 2 x 8

I goofed on both these sets. I just realized I shouuld have done at least sets of 10. Oh well...next time.

This was a GREAT workout.

I've changed my nutrition up and added more for breakfast. Energy levels are UP!

I LIKE S2B!

Wow...Day off. Good thing too. Sore sore.

Wave training def get's things going. Chest is really sore..even without a spotter I was doing the wave sets made me really sore.

I'm also sore in the abs from those barbell rollouts. Those are dang hard.

Legs..not so sore. More upper body soreness than lower. I guess it's just hard to hold enough with DB's to really test the legs. I'll keep trying though.

LOL - thanks for the kick in the pants, Jimbo. I have made it to the gym twice since getting back. The first time on Saturday was an excellent workout - I was really pumped. I still feel the DOMS .... should have taken it a little easier, especially on the legs. I went again last night but the workout wasn't great - lacked motivation and intensity. Just kind of slept-walked through it. Grrr... It's lunch here so just headed off to do some HIIT at my downtown gym.

As for the trip, it was excellent, thanks. We drove about 4300 kms and saw loads of stuff all the way down the coast. It was great spending so much time just with the family without any distractions. Ate like sh*t and didn't exercise hardly at all, but what the hell? It was only 2 weeks and I've been pretty good for the past 18 months!

I'm looking forward to starting S2B Phase 2 on Monday. It will be nice to do some serious lifting again.

Phase II is awesome...and really sets the stage well for Phase III. Which I'm enjoying greatly!
Lots of new moves I've never done b4!

This morning...

Hang Snatch 2 x 4/3/2 x 65/75/85 - 75/85/95
(I went fairly light..never done these before)
JP encouraged me cuz he said my form was perfect. Gotta love that!

Military Press 2 x 4/3/2 x 65/75/85 - 75/85/95
(Wnet light here too...but hey...I get to increase all by 5% next time!)

Russian twist 2 x 10 x 10
Upright Rows - 2 x 10 x 30

Friday Workout C

Box Squats warm up 1 x 6 x 115

Box Squats -2 x 4/3/2 x 185/205/225 - 205/225/245
Chins - 2 x 4/3/2 x 25/30/32.5 - 30/32.5/35
Hanging Leg Raises - 2 x 10
Rows - 2 x 10 x 65

I don't like box squats as much as traditional squats. They don't go low enough. Don't feel them nearly as much.

The Hanging leg raises were challenging for sure.

I went pretty light on the rows. I wuz tired.

PS - I'm slowly but surely gaining weight. I can see some of it in my mid section...I'm gonna keep on bulking through winter and see how I look after cutting for next summer.

I'm up about 5 pounds from where I was when I started this program. That's over 2 months so that's a really slow gain which is fine by me.

Monday Phase III - Workout A

Deads
1 x 4/3/2 x 85/90/95 (DB's)
1 x 4/3/2 x 90/95/100 (DB's)

Bench
1 x 4/3/2 x 145/155/160
1 x 4/3/2 x 155/160/165

Cable Ext Rot 2 x 8 x 10
Barbell Rollouts 2 x 10

Really need a spotter on this workout especially on the bench.

I feel like I finally got the form correct on the Cable Ext Rot move. Lowered the weight and got it right.

Barbell Rollouts are killer.

Beginning weight 170
Today's weight 176

I can see some of it around my mid section. I'll probably do a cutting phase after I get through S2B.

Not doing any kind of cardio during S2B. I wanna see if I can actually grow. Wish my arms would grow.

Congrats, Jimbo. It's amazing what pizza and beer can accomplish ....

Seriously, nice work - that's a good gain since starting S2B.

Just started Phase 2 yesterday. Glad to be back lifting weights. So far, the shoulder and elbow feel pretty good ... that could be the meds though. *rolls eyes*

No Pizza and Beer. Just milk and twinkies. LOL

I got pretty sore right after starting Phase II. You may see some soreness. But it hurts so good.

I like Phase III. Learning moves that I will use the rest of my life. This is a great program.

Well...I'm not sure what I will do about Dead lifts next monday. I used the heaviest dumbells in the gymn for them this week.(100# DB's)

I guess I'm gonna move on to barbell Deads but use a sumo stance. That said...I'm really confused about how much weight to load on. If my last deadlift was with 2 100 pound dumbells...what would that equate to on a barbell. I know that it's not really equal...cuz 200# on a barbell would be much easier to lift than the 2 - 100's were.

Thinking out loud. I may have to post this on the training forum.
