Well, I had to move up to my "fat pants" this morning .... My wife said it was no longer decent to wear my others ....
Nice work on the 155 front squat. I AM looking forward to phase 2 .... eventually.

Man...those wives can be just way too honest.
Sounds like your growing!! And that was the plan huh! Keep up the good work man!
I was able to purchase me some more protien this weekend so at least I can start doing my supps around my workouts again. I missed about a week of supps.
I know whole foods are much more important...but hard for me to meet my protien needs without the whey...

She actually said, with a smirk ..."It's only because you're getting so brawny ...!" Pshaw!

I need my fat pants. The problem is that I'm 98% sure the weight gain last month was just that. Pure fat!
Don't worry Jimbo I keep promising to log as well. I also need to resolve to do better at my HIIT.

How often are you doing HIIT, Gabe?
(Sorry to hijack, Jimbo!)

Not hardly at all. It's been weighing on me. Oddly enough I've got a weird sense of guilt. I hate doing things half assed and it feels like I'm approaching this program in that manner.

I hope my KC doesn't hop on me...but I haven't been doing HIIT either. Just running on my off days...except today. My legs are sore and I'm feeling tired...so I'm really resting today.
Rest is good.

I didn't make it through my workout this morning. I have never had this happen b4. After doing 5 x 5 chins (body weight only) I started doing hang cleans. On my 3rd rep I didn't quite land something right and staggered a bit. My left shoulder felt like crap after that. (painful) I did 2 x 2 and I called it.
I DON'T want a shoulder injury to hamper my efforts here. If it is still hurting come friday...I may just skip through the weekend and let it rest/heal. Been working out a couple of years with no injurys..don't want to start now.
crap.
This morning's workout sucked.

I was doing the hang and cleans this morning and it's uncomfortable in my shoulder as well. It's not a natural movement for me. If you couple that with my tight hip flexor on my left side it is a hard exercise for me.
I may swap it out for something else so I don't hurt myself.

I'm gonna keep it in my workout...but I'm def gonna drop the weight down a bit until I get accustomed to it. I wasn't really going that heavy at 95 but it still taxes me. So I'm gonna drop down to 85 and see how my shoulders feel...but not until next week.
I took some ibu's and my shoulder feels ok. I can still tell I did a little something to it. But I don't think it's serious.
Seems that those hang cleans are less about heavy lifting than they are about flexibility and stamina. They are tuff. But I don;t really want to drop them...yet...

Give it a rest over the weekend, man. Make sure you're healed up. You DON'T want an injury. At our age, the healing takes a LONG time!

Jimbo, make sure you're warming up before doing the clean and press. You are doing the recommended active stretching right? Also do a set or two with an empty bar right before you put the weights on. Get the joints lubricated and the muscles warm.
I did a set of 8 with an empty bar this morning, then another set of three. I also use it as a chance to check my form before I go torture those muslces. In the case this morning, even after the first eight, I wanted to double check my form so I did an extra three.

Yessir. I did 3 sets of 6 with the empty bar prior to loading. The program has the chins before the clean press. Those wore me out pretty good. Maybe that contributed. Are you doing the chins first? Last week I opted to do the clean and press first and I faired better. Though I had a harder time with the chins.
Maybe I'm just a wuss...

Well, mine hurts fairly regularly, so probably ...
Well, given my eldest is only 13, I am certainly hoping not to be a grampa for a LONG while! Sometimes I feel like one though ...

Yes, I'm doing the chins first and I'm going into the clean and press pretty tired and they are flat out exhausting (in an oxygen depleting way). I had quite a bit of trouble last week getting the hang of them, but I felt much more comfortable today and I think its become my new favorite exercise -- can't beat the combo of aerobic and anarobic all in one!
I have had shoulder problems in the past and have focused on strengthing them for a while so maybe that's why I haven't had the same troubles you and Deserve are experiencing.
Take care of that shoulder!
