SS
Squats
2x8x135

EZ Bar Narrow Grip Curls
3x8x85
Swam 1920.24m

This low carb thingy is zapping me for lifting. But I'm trying. (this is 3 days in a row without a rest day so that probably had something to do with it too)
Last part of my swim I did intervals. fun.

Jimbo: Hopefully you're just about to cross over with the low carbing. Give it a few more days and see how you feel. I think everyone hits that dog tired phase but is well rewarded for blasting through it.

I was planning a "carb loading day". Tomorrow will be 2 weeks. But I'm really hesitant to do it. Should I go ahead and do it or should I wait another week. What U think?
I've only lost like 3 pounds in 2 weeks. I can see some differences here and there. Still a long ways to go. I'm considering dropping the calories a little more...and I'm not sure if that's a good idea either.
Some have said that losing 2 pounds a week is a good loss. But I don't have that much fat on me. So it's hard to guage if my loss so far is acceptable.
ramble ramble ramble (must be the low carb screwing with my brain too)

Hang Cleans
1x8x95
2x8x115
1x1x120 (I failed MISERABLEY on the second rep attempt)
Weights fell like a rock on the safety bars. Oh well. I got one in b4 I zonked. I did a couple more reps wtih 95 and then opted to do some HIIT before I died. (like that was going to be EASIER)
HIIT 2:1 for just 10 minutes. 2 minutes@6 and then 1@9mph. Was only 4 intervals. But hey..it's saturday.
Then I swam a mile and added 300 more yards of HIIT sprint swim. I did 100 yds easy then 50 yds all out. My best 50 yards was done in 40 seconds. I don't know if that good or not. Best I could do though.
Nice workout though I didn't do much lifting those hang cleans really do tax a person. I'm gonna keep doing these. I've been getting sore..all over from them. I know, I know, that doesn't mean much. But it's hitting me in places I've never hit before and it keeps the heart rate UP. Good for cutting.
Yesterday was supposed to be "carb load" day..I didn't relax much, though I allowed myself a double cheeseburger at MCD's. I still hit my low carb and caloric goals for the day.
Keepin the diet tight. Watching my fat leave.

I know what you mean about the cleans really taxing your system. After my barbell complex workout the other night, my entire body was completely exhausted. I don't know how o-lifters make it look so easy.

One of these days when I feel like crushing myself I'm gonna try that BB complex you did. I think I might need to bring someone with me to drive me home though.:p

Jimbo - about every swimmer I know ends up with some shoulder problems relating to developing front muscles and not back muscles. There are some insanely easy exercises that correct this. You might check with swimmers at your pool. I don't know how to video, and my descriptions may lack something. If you can't find it elsewhere I'll give it a try.

Thanks for the heads up! I definitely want to avoid shoulder issues!! I have been paying close attention to my body on this.
I actually was hoping the hang cleans might help.
Do you have any idea about what the specific exercises are called? I can google it..
I'm going to start a thread in the swimmers forum. We have some pretty experienced swimmers in there.

Just did some body weight stuff this a.m. but it was pretty tough.
King Deads
2x8
Step Ups w 25 DB's
2x8 each leg
One leg Squats 2x2
I had this workout UPSIDE down. Should have done the Uni Squats first! I could only eek out a couple. I was supersetting all 3 things though so it probably wouldn't matter.
Swam a mile.

2 weeks of low carbing.jpg
Just thought I'd share a report screen of my last 2 weeks of trying to control my carb/protien/fat & caloric intake. I'm kinds proud of my efforts though I had a few small dips up and down calorie wise. But not bad.
Making headway too. I weighed in at 166 this morning. I did a double take when I saw that. Actually rubbed my eyes and looked closer/readjusted the scale thinking somethin was screwed up. Holy hell..if that's a true weight...I'm down by 9 pounds. But I still have cutting to go/still have a layer belly fat.
Hope I attached the file to this correctly.

The attachment downloaded 'no prob'
I clicked on the link in another thread and looked at the exercises you found for swimming. Many of them were similar. The odd thing is that you only need 10-20 pounds to keep the front-back balance. I think the most important thing is to be aware of any shoulder pain. I tend to tune it out until shoulders are raging sore. I notice it most at nighttime, sleeping on my side.
Edit: This was odd, I hit the link in order to see your 'diet charts', but when I saved this reply the diet chart popped up in your entry.

I haven't had any ongoing pain. I have had soreness a few times. I try to rest when that happens cuz I know it can always be a warning sign.
I had overuse problems with my knees before so I know how to screw up. Now I'm trying to avoid that by staying aware of things.
I have stopped in mid swim once but it wasn't a shoulder, it was a lat. I had been hitting chins pretty hard and they needed a lil rest.
I guess that diet chart was a little big. Probably takes a bit of time to load up. Anyway, not that anyone should care about it. I've just never worked so hard on my diet before and I guess I'm a little proud of myself.
I was also looking for someone to bust me out on it if there was a problem they saw in it.

I hesitate to even post this log..cuz my "workout" this morning was so lack luster and ..sporadic..in approach that I don;t think it qualifies as a training session. But I was moving around a little this morning none the less.
Hang Cleans
1x4x95
1x2x95
1x2x95
1x2x95 (see what I mean..)
1x2x115
1x2x115

2x8x50
Swam 800 yards
Maybe it's time for a couple of days off.

Jimbo -- diet chart looked awesome! Although there's no real macro breakdown on most low carb diets, I think GSD was 60%fat/ 40% protein/ 10% carbs. You're nailing that perfectly so I'd take it as a good sign!
Good job on the scale weight too.
