As for the push-ups, don't go too vertical, cuz then you're doing a vertical push and not a horizontal push ... I like Tony's idea of either a walkover pushup (and you can even do these explosive!) or with your feet on a bench and your hands on a Swiss Ball ... try a few reps of each and decide which will serve you better.

Got it. I'll try the steps and walk overs. After months of liftin heavy, I found it hard to think that any of these "body weight" things would do much..but OMG I got so sore. (and I know, I know, that's not supposed to be any indication of how well something works you)
But let's just say I KNEW I had exercised.
OH - And the leg workout that you gave me..LORD HAVE MERCY...I am soooo sore. Ok. I'm through whining for the moment.
First off..I wasn't sure I'd get through Yoga class cause my arse is so sore. (Literally) But I finished. Just as I finished the desk clerk at our gym came into class and said I had a call. I figured this was NOT a good thing. Has never happened before. Indeed..my wife needed me pronto. My 9 year old daughter was hurling this morning and my wife had to be in a class in Little Rock. So I had to beg off work and go get her..make doc appointment..she is ONE sick puppy. She did not hold down water all day yesterday. And we are taking her BACK to the doctor this morning! She is sooo sick.
Sorry to hear about your daughter, Jemmie. I hope she's on the mend soon.

Darn. Blocked by our work firewall. Well the gall of those people!
I'll take a look when I get home. I can tell from the tone of your post that it must be a very special push up variation. Can't wait to try it...
I took today as a rest day. My low back is rebelling on me. Think maybe I was at too steep and angle on those push ups? Anti-inflamatories are my friend.

They x-rayed her abdomen and didn't find anything unusual thank God. Blood work was fine too. So we just have to concentrate on trying to hydrate her. If we can't keep anything in her they are talking hospital. Wifey says she is holding down some stuff at the moment!! So here's hoping!!
Sorry to hear about your back, Jemmie. I hope it's on the mend. "Tweak" sounds a lot better than what you've had in the past!!

Hey Julie. Feels fine..of course I haven't done anything..I mean..I've done nothing. No running, no swimming, no exercising..etc. So I can't say wether or not it's good to go.

No doubt. Yeah, it wasn't nearly as bad as last time.
I really have no motivation. Maybe this long break will be good for me. I dunno. I'm giving myself permission to say to hell with it. This is the longest I have went in the last 4 years without doing some form of exercise. It's a mental thing really. I'll get past it I'm sure in time. I'm depressed. I've been here before. I'll live. I know others here have had their own struggles with it too so I don't mind mentioning it.
I'm not crazy depressed or anything..just tired, sad, and tired of being sad. I'll get over it. I have plenty of support all around. So no reason to continue feeling this way. Changing one's feelings is sometimes easier said than done though. I'll be alright.
