Well, I finally did it. I went and got the Turbulence Training reports. Had my first workout yesterday, more on that later. I just want to say thanks to JP for once again the log section. I also want to thank Craig for the TT reports(you are one sadistic man ) Just kidding. The workout was great! Also, thanks to Capp, Baddog, Keith, Emartin for letting me read their logs about their experiences with TT. Now hopefully I can make it to my goal weight of 190 before my son graduates in May.
Stats as of now:
211.8lbs---Current
190 lbs----Goal
I'm camera shy right now, so no pictures for a while.
here's my workout
Workout A
db squat---10x25,10x50,10x50(each arm)
BO Row(Wide Grip) ----10x40,10x85,10x85(no cables, so couldn't do a seated row)
DB Split Squat----12x35,12x35,12x35
Pull up ----3,2,2 (reverse grip)
Ab curlup---6,6,6(10secs each)
side plank--4,4,4 (10 secs each)
Did the beginner intervals and I only managed to do 3 of them.
5 min W/U
3 30 secs @ 9 mph
3 90 secs @ 3.5 mph
5 min C/D
I was wore out after this.
I think I needed this change. Now hopefully I'll hit my goals.
Craig, if you read this, is it ok for me to switch the 2 exercises? Seated row w/ BO Row and pulldown with a pullup? I don't have cables at the house.

Kill it dude! You're gunna love it. Make sure you take before photos, even if you aren't going to post them now, because when you lose the weight, you'll probably want to post them anyway to brag .

Glad you started a log man, keep with it and make sure you keep us up to date. Good luck!

Yes, those substitutions are fine...what is a BO row?

That's a tough workout you pushed yourself through. Great work. Keep up the consistency...and eat well. That will get you the results.

And like Eric said, take that photo for yourself if for no one else!

He's probably referring to a bent-over row.

Thanks everyone. I'll have my wife take a picture. I'm looking forward to it. Monday's workout was different than what I expected. I was watching everyone elses log and figured this was for me.
Today is workout B.
Craig, it was bent-over row. Thanks.

Here's my workout for yesterday. Didn't get the intervals in, I'll get them today. It actually felt weird having a day off from exercising(tues). Think I'll do my weights on M,W,F and intervals on T,TH,S. Just felt strange, if you know what I mean. Well, here it is.
Workout B
DB bench press------10x25,10x50,10x50(each arm)
DB step up(no weight)--10,10,10
Elevated kneeling P/U--12,12,8
Stab ball leg curl ---12,12,8
Plank(10 secs)--------4,4,4
Bird Dog(5 secs each)--6,6,6
After doing the Db bench's, doing the elevated pushups were brutal. I did the step up with 0 weight because I wanted to make sure I had the form right. I'll add more next time. The Stability ball leg curl(once I got the form right) was killer also. Craig you are a sadist, and I say that with the utmost respect I like these workouts. It keeps everything fresh and I know I've worked out. They look easy, but, wow!

I prefer to think of the client as a masochist.

Well done,

Thanks, Craig.
Did intervals last night. Felt great. Then went and played tennis for about an hour with my wife after she got in from work. All in all, it was a good night.
3 min W/U
5x30 sec @ 3.5mph
5x90 sec @ 8.0mph
3 min C/D
I'm still a little sore from Wed workout. Tonight is Workout A, again. Looking forward to it. MD

Keep it up man. Good work on the intervals. I think that's where a lot of people will slack off a little, and not get the results that they want. Keep posting your results, they're fun to keep an eye on. Did you take some starting pics for everyone to see once you're a lean beast?

Thanks E. I did take some pictures yesterday. Even though I'm 15 lbs lighter than when I started working out in Aug, I'm still not satisfied with how I look. Granted, gut is smaller, but, not where I want it.
Well, on to my workout. Missed it completely. Well, didn't actually miss it, just dodged it. Forgot about some plans we had made for right after work. Dinner with friends. I did have a healthy dinner--seafood buffet. Salmon(grilled), tilapia(tomato sauce), shrimp(boiled), scallops(spicy sauce, salad, 2 beers. I tried, honestly, to just get water, but they called my name, LOL.
I'll be hitting the workout right after work today, along with intervals. I never realised that I would like working out. MD

For every workout you miss you have to add one additional interval to every workout for the rest of the program .

I think this fits in nicely with the whole masochism theme.

Well, I managed to get my workout in on Saturday. As far as my HIIT, instead of the treadmill, I mowed my yard. ANd not with a riding mower. My wife had started it and I finished it. About an hours worth. Here's my workouts for Saturday and Tuesday.(wasn't able to workout on Monday, I was fixing my truck.)
Saturday:
Workout A
Boy was I a moron! I reread the workout and realised that I was supposed to do 2 sets instead of 3, oh well no harm done. But when I was doing my DB plit squats I read my last workout wrong. I used 35 lbs on my split squats, and I was going to up it next workout to 40 lbs total. I read it and threw 40 lbs on 2 DB's(80 lbs total) and proceeded to do my squats. I couldn't figure out why I was having so much trouble. DUH, I figured it out after my workout was done. I felt like a moron, albeit a sore one, LOL. Well, here's the workouts
Workout A ---Saturday
DB Squat -------10x25lbs,10x50,10x50(each DB)
Wide grip BO Row-10x20, 10x40,5x40(each DB)
DB split squat --10x20, 10x40, 10x40 (each DB)
Pullup ----2,2
AB Curlup--6,6
Side PLank--4,4
HIIT --- Mowed Grass(I live on a hill)
Workout B--Tuesday
DB Bench press --10x35, 10x50(each DB)
DB Step up ------10x10, 10x20
elevated kneeling pushup--12,12
Stab Ball Leg curl --12,12
Plank- -------------4,4
Bird Dog------------6,6
Intervals ---------5
intervals:
3 min @ 3.5 ---W/U
5 x 30 sec @ 8
5 x 90 sec @ 4
3 min @ 3.5 ----C/D
Well, feel good. This is a great program. ...MD

Yeah - I added weights for the first time this week to the split squats starting at 40 (2 dbls of 40) and had to cut back to 30. Doesn't seem like should be that hard but I think it's because of the squats in the first superset really tires out my legs.

Sorry I haven't logged in for a few days, its been very hectic these last few days at work. I get home and before I know it, its 9 pm. I'll be working out tonight. I'm behind, I know, I'll get it, though.....MD

PS Baddog: I'll be moving the spit squats I think to 50 lbs total. Good luck on yours.
