Hmm. That competition sounds a little unbalanced. I'll add 5 more and we can do the best of 9.

My plank holds have been increasing in each of my programs. Side planks are shorter (5,8,20 secs) but I do a 3-6 each side.

Wonder if endurance plays a role in the longer planks?

'Best of 9'.

Well, if the 2 years of bootcamp class is any indication, holding a plank should be a woman's forte. I was the only guy in class who could hold it past 75 seconds and many guys couldn't hold or 60... all the rest in the challenges were women. One woman was 'unbeaten' (my 55 year old friend Bobbe), as she loved to remind me, but I did tie her twice (including the 4 minute one) when the iinstructor 'called' the contest because it became apparent we both weren't giving in. BTW, the instructro was brutal... she'd tap people out based on if there butt was too high or low, and if they started shaking.

FYI, today was chinup and deadlift day in King's program and after the warm-up, I was supposed to do sets of 8, 6, and 4 reps. I made 7, 5, and 4. Better than before, but a far cry from the 8 weighted reps of 40 lbs and sets of 14, 12, and 10.

Hey... I thought you were calling yesterday when you sent that note.

Now if that comment won't spark a compeitition, I don't know what will! I'm technically SUPPOSED to win, but so far I wouldn't. Ha! We'll see about that one.

Yeah, sorry. I didn't get your email back in time.

I doubt I could hold a plank for 2 minutes now. It's been a while and ever since (my) Craig had that comment, I've avoided extended plank holds as a waste of time.

I also don't think I could run for 5 minutes straight now, not having run for quite some time... [hint]

Ok, I've had a little fun this morning and have promised some pics. I wore the same outfits you've seen in previous pics to help with the comparison.

See what happens when I eat nearly 2000 cal a day, squat, and do chin-ups??

Again, all TT style, and it's working for me Thanks Craig!!!

Sun Feb 13th

40:16 min run

4.5miles (7.26km) 8:57/mi (5:34 /km) pace

I felt like I was running a lot harder than this pace. It was really windy and my neighborhood is quite hilly. So I feel like it was a good effort, even though I don't really like the numbers.

Finished up with some light stretching.

Was supposed to do this yesterday, but I also needed to start my week on Sundays so I can have a day off during the week instead of going 6days straight. (ok and I was a little beat from a late fri night..didn't get to sleep in because I woke up hungry )

Looks like you are there C - the clay has been fired and glazed! Can count ab packs now (!) and the last picture's lighting really shows off the definition. Looks like you could be modeling in a swimsuit catalog. Big congrats!

Thanks for being brave. I'll refrain from the salacious comments because of your wishes, but they did cross my mind (sorry, I AM a guy) and you know you are smokin' now. If you posted these in 'The Thread' guys would be falling over themselves to compliment you.

PS: I gotta get serious now with my training! Your pics motivate me more than mine.
PPS: Why do you keep cutting your legs out of the pics? Looks like you have some very nice hamstring definition.

Few questions: are you at maintenance kcal intake now? When did you stop going into deficit? Or do you not know that information?

Not something you hear everyday.

I guess this also means I need to get my rear in gear, although I have a bit further to go.

Haven't checked out the new log yet. First let me say, holy crap you look awesome. Would you mind if I used your pics to show a lot of females what weight workouts can do for you? You make an awesome role model!

Also, damn some of you people do a lot of running and activity in general. In my weight gain quest I have done my best to rid myself of any un-needed activity and just looking at your log makes me tired. Adding it back in over the next couple of months is going to suck.

I'd say I'm 250ish cal deficit according to Katch-McCardle, but the deficit is not much. I've been shooting for the same calorie levels around 6months now.

The deficit in my opinion is pretty small, so it's probably maintenance. I really don't think you can be that accurate anyway. Either with what I'm eating or expending. Although this program I technically have an extra workout day, so I think I'll be watching my energy levels more closely.

Thanks! I have noticed that lighting does make a difference and it's nearly impossible to find a good well-lit spot in my house. But funny this time I had to worry more about how my hair looked than my abs. Unfortunately being a gal, I don't feel like I could have the same pic results any time I took a snapshot.

I've obviously gotten over some of the shyness, but still DO NOT want to be in THE thread. I like staying in this section where y'all are more serious.

Geez, first you complain cause there's no head, then you complain because there's no legs. Apparently I'm not skilled enough with my camera to fit it all in.

Thanks! I only wish I knew I could have done this 10 years ago!! Depends on how you're going to show it to them I guess...although it's a public site....

Funny you say that. My workouts are much shorter than they used to be. When I first started I was wondering if I was doing enough. This combination of 'less is more' has worked for me. I've always liked the running and those are even shorter distances / times than I used to do.

Why are you getting back into running? Starting a cutting phase before the retreat??

Nice pics, capp. Definitely shows that hard work pays off.

And I vote for more head shots, too. You have a great smile.
