FNL is one hell of a movie. My HS just signed up to play Abilene next year in Texas Stadium. Abilene beats Permian in one of the first games of the year in that movie, and then loses to them in the playoffs.

How do you gain 2 pounds and get skinnier? You can't possibly have used up that much muscle and gained that much fat in just a week.

Oh yeah, and JP called me back this morning - should've bought a lottery ticket.
I could've tipped you off to go buy the ticket. Might say I had a little bit of influence here. Saw him as I was leaving the gym and told him you were whining in your log...

hmm, were the extra 2lbs sent directly to your a-cups? I'll be retiring that pink bikini this year, I should just give it to you at the retreat. Then you can post pictures with you it in. Get a push up bra, though.

Glad to read you're feeling better!

C, I should've guessed - thanks for intervening. You must've worked out early, because JP called (at my home) at about 8:30AM. I even asked him if he had seen my log since he was returning the call.

N, thanks for 'getting my back' last night - JP started deleting when he saw what was happening.

Both of you, the extra 2 lbs, I'm guessing will be sent to my waist. I'll take a pass on the pink bikini C (I already have mine, silly!), but knowing these guys, you could probably auction it off for charity to them.

Well another day of no workouts. I fully got up this morning to work out and then started coughing, my body still felt warm, and my eyes were still producing thicker than normal fluid. I think I'll play it safe and wait until tomorrow. I really don't want to, but I don't want to do a workout with 4 rep sets while feeling less than OK, especially since this is the last week of the 3 week microcycle and the week you are supposed to go to failure. Blah, what's another day?

Yeah, I got to work about 8:15. See your on-line ranting the other day worked.

Did I miss some drama last night???

If you're not feeling well enough to lift heavy, you probably should wait.

No drama, just stupidity from a troll. Wasn't feeling well enough to lift, but did go out and buy some new fitted shirts today (regular ones are too baggy).

Ah, can't lift in baggy shirts, huh?

Save them for me at the retreat. I plan on being a d-cup by then, so they won't be too baggy for me.

Actually what happened was a guy in a greasy jet black mullet came in and wanted to know who was boss. Kaiser and I were here. K said that since JP wasn't here, that he was technically the boss. Mr. Mullet wanted to go outside and fight. Kaiser obliged, and I followed. What I witnessed were the best moves I have ever seen. Kaiser tore off his Brooks Brothers button down shirt to reveal his Under Armour, tightly glued to his strapping pectorals. He promptly went Bruce Lee on Mr. Mullet's rear end, repeatedly asking him "You want 2 pounds more of that, bitch?" After about 20 pounds, Mr. Mullet was out cold. I celebrated by jumping up and down and chanting "Who's the man now dog?" Kaiser just looked at me, put his shirt back on, tucked it in, and went back inside. He finally said thanks today for me having his back, because if I wasn't there, things were going to be really ugly.

LMAO Nick!! That was freakin' funny, in part because it is so NOT me.

Not fitted workout shirts C, but rather fitted dress shirts. Regular ones have a ridiculous amount of material at the sides, I guess for America's obesity epidemic, but on a normal size guy, they just billow out and look silly.

Please, please tell me you were joking about the cup size thing. I've had two female friends of mine get 'enhancements', much to my chagrin. Of course, I don't know you well enough to offer advice, but.... well, I just kind of did. 10 years and they need to be adjusted, which means under the knife again. Anyway, my two pennies, FWIW.

---------------------------------------
Here's some progress pics of me in street clothes. My face still looks a little chubby. Sorry about the framing; what I get when I prop the camera up on a box on my desk.

Ahh, that makes sense. I am used to seeing guys with all that material coming out of their pants and it looks really sloppy. Didn't realize that they are made extra big like that.

Is that one of your news shirts? Nice pics.

Not teasing about the enhancement, but no knife will be required. It's a new training/diet program.

N- funny interpretation of the drama. I'm suprised my computer didn't start jumping from all the excitement and wake me up.

'News shirts'? Yeah, it's the one I wear when I anchor the 6PM news. Capp, I have no idea what you mean about new diet exercise and... umm.... yeah. Just be careful with the supplemental stuff like Bloussant, etc. I've read about side effects.

Anyway.....[embarassed]

another day of no workout. Planned on it, but today was our monthly volunteer morning at a food pantry, and it ended up going for over 4 hours since they had so many people who needed food. I was on my hands and knees a lot filling over 50 bags with food and then handing it out, helping people carry it or place it into shopping carts to take home. Afterwards, we (wife and kids) went out to lunch (where I overate) and then to our neighbor's for dinner (where I overate). I haven't had this feeling in a long time: I ate so much that my stomach was hurting from being so full. Not a stomach ache, but rather pain from being kind of overfull. And this after overeating last night at a huge dinner party for over 400 people (it was BIG). That's why I look a little bigger in the pics above - I took and posted them after we got back from a night of feasting and revelrie.

I might post something else on the food pantry in the Off Topic forum. It's something that I think anyone who is blessed with a roof over their head, food on their plate, and health in their body should experience to enhance the remembrance of thankfullness for their situation.

Oh, no supplements either. It's another workout program I found on the web. Like TT only it's called BB. Figured TT works, so why not try BB???

I would like to hear more about the food pantry in off topic.

I'm wondering if you're still prone to overeating because you're not getting enough on 'good' days. Although being exposed to it in a gazillion dinner parties makes temptation much harder to resist.

I feel like I eat a lot, so I don't get deprived in that sense. However, when I do cheat, it's either a special occasion or a NEED for the bad stuff (i.e. emotional/stress, etc.)

Tomorrow is a new day and workout week! Keep moving foward!

Ummmm... OK. Good luck with that [Kaiser mutters something C already knows about breast tissue being largely adipose, blah, blah].

I'm not hungry when I eat my 500 kcla deficit, so its not that. It's the social events - it seems like we've had a LOT lately.

Monday, February 28th

Back in the saddle again. Literally.

Aerobic/Anaerobic
Still feeeling the congestion a bit today - not at 100% - maybe about 90%. Worked hard in spin class though, feeling frustration for 7 days of doing nothing. HR monitor said I burned 993 kclas, which is a good effort. Max HR during stomps (we only did 7) was 187. It is fun to watch the HR plummet as we cool down afterwards - good sign of heart health, I hope.

Diet
Didn't log AGAIN. This is like the 9th day in a row. Oh yeah, did I mention? Here's the damage bill from my illness:

GAIN of 3 lbs.
GAIN of 1% BF.

Blah. Double blah. Gotsa get serious so I am looking lean and small by the time I get to the retreat. But, another mental impediment: I want to get out and ride my bike in the worst way now - I want to go for a LONG ride. It's just that it's still snowing here. I fear come April, I'll give in to the longings of the saddle (hey, that sounded kinda sick) and get into 'LBM wasting mode'. I gotta pick if I want to be lean and muscular, or ride far.

Well, at least getting into the gym has made me feel kinda frisky again (not sexually, you pervs).

Woohoo Kaiser, back on the bike! I always think the friskiness comes from both mental (proud you did it) and physical (exertion). It's all good.

Heck if riding is what you like, I'd go for it. I thought the problem was over indulging in the carbs to compensate for the long rides, not the rides themselves.

PS I was teasing about the BB program....

.
You are right, but the issue is whether I can control the carb cravings. I need to balance the absolute need for carbs - ever bonked before? It is the WORST feeling because you tell your legs to go and they just won't. It's a bad disconnect between mind and body and I always think is it (very slightly) analogous to someone who is paralyzed, albeit only a temporary loss. Your body won't respond to your brain. I'm still conflicted about whether I will ride a lot this summer or not. 4 weeks ago, I would've said no, but now spring is around the corner and I'm getting sick of being inside the gym.
