Awww Nick. I missed you too! Actually, I'm two timing you for someone way, WAY cuter!
I'm moving to weeks 11-13. So I am right in the middle of the intermediate phase. So far so good... we're getting into the big lifting phase now. May shift to TT in March or April depending.

Scale dropped again this morning. Man, it is flying down now. Wonder why? Maybe wall climbing is a better fat burner than I would have guessed.
FYI, for those of you keeping score at home, I started this whole escapade at 183.5 lbs. I'm now at 175 lbs. MY goal is somewhere around 167 or 168, but really closer to 165 and then an addition of 2-3 LBM. Yesterday in my class, I was giving examples of the differences between goals and objectives, and I have a running example using my fat loss to illustrate different examples. Finally, one of the female students asked me what I was talking about and two other girls agreed. I explained to them what I was doing, they said I was not fat and then looked at me as if I suffered from some sort of body dysmorphia! How do you explain to people who aren't dedicated what your mindset is? I told them that, yes, compared to most of America that is obese or overweight, I don't have any fat to lose, but for long-term health purposes, there is a lot I can do.
Still, I won't lie that it felt good that they said that - they're college students who pretty much speak their mind and so they weren't just being polite when they blurted this out.

Hey, K. Executive summary, WTF?? j/k it works
Last night on Queer Eye for the straight Girl, they took her to a climbing wall. I didn't see the shot since I was cooking, but she mentioned at the wrap up that she really liked it.
You better start TT before the retreat if you have any hopes of beating me in any challenge. hehe.

Ah thanks, we cross-posted.
Nothing like candid feedback and using real-life examples in class. Before you know it, you'll have them climbing walls
Got to get rattling on to work. I'm puny, but I can work

It's close to 50 degrees here in Chicago today... surprisingly massive motivation to eat cleanly.
In typical Chicago style, I see people out in t-shirts.

Yeah, nothing like a few sun rays to perk up the motiviation...thoughts of beach and desire to be outdoors It's warm and pretty here, and people were out in droves. I wondered if something was going on that I didn't know about.

There was. But we're not supposed to tell you.
Anyway, just for C, here's today's log a little early:
Friday, February 4th
Was supposed to start my new phase of lifting today (squats for today's program) but, alas, fate has intervened. First off, I banged the top of my kneecap on a hold while climbing yesterday. The kind of knock you don't notice until the next day. It's sore enough that if I strain it with heavy squats, I could provoke an inflammatory reaction and fluid (been down that road before).
Also, my neighbor asked if me and my older son wanted to go to a basketball game this evening.
Finally, I haven't taken a day off since last Friday (i.e. this would be day#8 in a row without a rest day).
All of this has made me take this as a rest day....which kinda throws my whole schedule out of whack, but I'll have to revise or improvise. Ah well....
Diet
Food 1355 kcals
32%P/ 32%C/ 36%F of which only 6% pf total was saturated
Not bad... given my hunger, I have to be in deficit.

Resistance
10 min warms up on the elliptical, then Workout A from the next miniphase of TBOM. After multiple ab circuits, where I went to failure, did straight sets of BB shoulder presses and full depth high bar squats. 2 warm up sets of each exercise, followed by 3 works sets descending reps, and a back off set. Not a lot of muscle fatigue for this round.
BB shoulder was good - I'll be back to where I was lifting 3 years ago (at the height of my strength) pretty soon. But full depth squats is sad. I lifted for 4 reps 65% of what I used to for 10 three years ago. While I know I shouldn't compare, it's pathetic that somone with thighs as big as mine should be squatting way less than he benches. Lot of improvement needed there.
I lifted middle of the day and seemed to have a lot of energy then.
Diet
Was good through lunch, but didn't log because I had a Chuck E. Cheese birthday party with the kids early evening (pizza chased with cola) and then grabbed an A&W All American burger (single, no cheese). Uggh.... I hate this food. Thank God - once a year or so is enough for this kind of greasy nastiness.
Probably in surplus, but then my Polar HR watch said my warm-up and lifting of 65 mins gobbled up over 700 kcals. No way - fitday usually puts it at around 400. Need to make some calls to some experts to get an accurate gauge.
Comments
When I came home in my Dri-Fit compression top and took off my jacket, my wife commented that I had lost a lot of fat around the stomach and was beginning to look lean. Sadly, she wasn't exactly saying it lustily - my ego could always use the boost - but she never says it for the sake of saying it; she'll only say it if she means it, which means the progress is getting noticeable.
May post some mid-progress pics soon now that I am close to the half way mark. Will see - let me burn off some of this nasty greasy junk food from today first.

That's exactly how I feel. I don't want to take pictures because of all the crap I ate today. But hey, at least it tasted good.

Hey K. When other people start noticing your progress, you've made some really good improvements! Post those pics in the dri-fit shirt!
Think climbing has made your upper body strength regains faster than lower?
Know what you mean about the greasy stuff. When I do eat it, it feels YUCKY in my belly. Luckily it's not very often. Although I need to start watching my chocolate chip treat nights.

I don't think its the climbing because I noticed it before I started hitting the rock wall.
Ughh... I know it doesn't matter from one day to the next, but its sad to see that I gained 2 lbs from yesterday morning to this morning. Yechhh. I don't ever want to eat like that any time soon. My wife's family is going out to lunch at an Indian Restaurant today (always a BIG calorie bomb) and my wife knew after yesterday I wouldn't go, so she got me out. Instead, I'm heading to the gym at the same time. Double bonus points for that.
How are you feeling this morning, C?

First of all, CONGRATS on your progress!!! I've had complete confidence in you all along!
As to the greasy stuff, I have lived in Texas my entire life and there was a time when few foods, it seemed, didn't come out the deep fryer. So, I still like to taste some of the old "regulars" once in a while. There's a restuarant in Austin named Threadgill's - used to be more music oriented long ago before the owner died; Janis Joplin used to play there - that serves very good Southern cookin'. We go visit our daughter just about every Saturday (at her request!) and we go out to eat so we went to Threadgill's yesterday.
They make all the fried staples of this region such as chicken fried steak, fried okra, etc. Yesterday, I got pecan encrusted chicken breast (pan fried) along with butter beans and okra gumbo... but I just had to have a few fried chicken livers on the side! I hate to say it but they were GREAT! MMMMMMMM Back to the good stuff today.

Thanks Brad. Too funny. I just feel kinda gross now after eating greasy food like that.
Well, one quick progress pic. Shows the belly going down; unfortunately bad lighting and body hair make it that you can't see that I actually have my top 2 abs poking through a bit. You can see where I have to lose the fat though.

Woohoo Kaiser bares it all. Looking fit! Definately see that progress has been made, especially on the side Kaiser rolls you were so adament in pointing out to me.
And I see you turn headless when you're bare chested
Keep up the good work!
Great plan of trading buffet for gym!
I was feeling perky this morning, but am now really tired again. Really want to run, but I don't think it will happen today.

The headless was for 2 reasons: 1) I had bedhead (yes, those are my jammies), 2) if it gets in the wrong hands, no one but my wife can actually ascertain that it is me.
Thanks for the gentle comments and motivation C. You, of all people, know how hard it is to post a pic like that in public. I was ready to pull it right after I posted.

Wow, nice progres Kaiser! Can definately see the improvements. Always nice to "see" the changes and not just record them somewhere. I was going to add some progress pics to mine, but I wont . Not enough progress yet .
