Question

It seems it's not just me who finds these difficult. Even with just the bar, they're tricky. Here's a link to a topic I started at the MH forum with my explanation and some feedback. Any suggestions, or anything to add? Thanks in advance.

BTW, I don't have a rack; I hoist the weight up, which is OK right now since I want to do them in a hybrid move of power clean/front squat/push press.

Chris, is there any way you can get a picture of yourself trying, it may be something simple. What would happen if you took a slightly wider grip? Do you hold the bar in your hands, or let it slide down to your fingertips?

Here is a picture from CrossFit.com that can provide another visual for you. How much different do you look than that?

You know, the slightly wider grip looks like it may be the key. My current grip puts my hands pretty much directly over my shoulders, rather than outside of them. Then when I let the bar roll, that's the "into the neck" problem. Good pic. Thanks for that. Any way I can see the rest of that young woman?

Also, that looks like an interesting site. I'll have to check it out when I've got some time to spend on that.
