How many of you do fine during the week, working out, diet, then Fri. and Sat. have tendencie of overdoing the beer? Thats my problem.
IF one has to have a few drinks, what is the best and why?
Thanks

If you're going to drink beer, then light beer is the lowest in calories. Low carb beers are also lower in calories and not all that much lower in carbs than light beer.
In the grand scheme of things, there's not all that much difference between low carb and light beers, calorie or carb-wise.
You could always go the run and diet coke route. I've found, when I make them myself, that it doesn't take much rum to get the flavor. Stronger (darker) tasting rums require less of it, too. This is probably your lowest calorie option.
Sugar free/low carb margarita mix is also available. Same deal as the rum and diet coke...
If you need some "hair of the dog," then Bloody Mary's are decent. Tomato Juice or V8 is pretty low cal. Some mixes have added sugars.

Here is a link to an article that discusses the effects of alcohol on fat metabolism. It also has a chart of different types of alcohol and its cals and alcohol content you might find useful

LOL...Na, I just pretty much drink whatever I'm in the mood for. I drink a lot less than I used to though. And by less, I mean less nights out of the year, not less in one sitting..hehe. Can still hold my own pretty well

After what I've read about alcohol, it's not so much the calories in beer that's bad for you, but what the alcohol does to your body.
So if your going to drink, drink something better than crap light beer

All that good work just goes to waste as soon as the weekend hits.. (

I have the opposite problem. Once I have a few drinks, I eat anything in sight

Ive adopted a new strategy when it comes to drinking. Dont eat before hand, and hard liqour. Induce a state of intoxication quickest with fewest calories. Only problem is, after this happens and im already mega calories over, i start playing beer pong and the whole thing goes to shambles. Only solution. Dont drink!
Plan on not drinking till sept. by then ill hopefully make good gains, add some muscle, so drinking wont be so counter productive.?

you need to purge before sleeping...which brings me back to everclear...you're likely to puke before\during nappy time, getting rid of all that un-neccisary calories.

never puked or been able to induce puking, glad though, wouldnt want to be a bother, but man would that be sweet (getting rid of the calories, not the other part!)

I have the opposite problem. Once I have a few drinks, I eat anything in sight
That's my problem. After a night of heavy drinking all I want to do is eat. The problem is that I crave all the wrong foods. I crave crap foods like milk shakes, fries, burgers. So I really don't drink much anymore. It's not worth the way you feel the day after, it's not worth the sacrifice in gains amongst many other things.

you're still a little young for the "advanced drinking" for an American anyway.
What you need is a funnel...100m worth of tubing...a two story house...a pitcher of beer...and a lapse in judgement.
