Completing 1000 posts is a unique milestone. More important than the countless hours it represent doing something other than work it represents the time spent to a commitment to change. It has been an amazing journey from a shy lurker to a 1000 poster with a lot of camaraderie along for the ride. It is proof that anyone can find knowledge if you find the courage to take the first step.
I started this journey with a look in the mirror and a cringe at what I was becoming. There were elements in my life that needed to stop and other the needed to reverse course and there was no time like the present. That was almost 2 years ago and everything is progressing with the ups and downs you would expect but always moving forward.
I don’t have any profound words of wisdom, just one meager piece of advice and many thanks. To anyone who is trying to work up the courage to get in the gym. Don’t worry about being self conscious. In all likelihood it won’t be the same faces looking at you in 3 months. Those that are there weren’t born with good form and everyone struggles with dedication and understanding at times. Look, listen, learn and have some fun. The rewards are there for the patient and studious.
I need to thank my virtual gym. You guys are awesome. You are a constant reminder to have a sense of humor about life. Without your posts and copious e-mails I would have quit a long time ago or still be on a path that would have left me lopsided and without an appreciation of the powers of a fine cigar. I would be remiss if I didn’t thank JP. His entrepreneurial spirit makes this little forum work. He may never sell his T-shirts or DVD but the fitness summit is worth the price of admission and you get the T-Shirt and don’t need the DVD.
Here’s to a 1000 more and those that are along for the ride!

Congratulations! As somebody else that just hit the 1000 post, it sounds like you started the same way I did.
Perhaps one day, we can enjoy some of those fine cigars at the summit!

Well Deserve
This may be your 1000th post but the one that really made a difference to me was this one .
I am for 4 days away from finishing phase 9.
Also thanks to BjsAust, Jimbo, lilman and JP who answered my first post.
Hope this reminds that in your 1000 there were many good ones and a very good one for me.

Well, my friend. I can only say, bravo. What a pleasure it was to meet you and sample your enthusiasm at the last fitness retreat. When you came into JPs on that first day, all I could think of was a kid in a candy store. You were wide-eyed and wanting to soak up anything and everything and your mood became infectious. A thousand more, please and see you in the spring for the next retreat.

Thanks you all. I appreciate the kind words. It's weird to think back about those first couple of days of training. At some point I'll have to post the first work out I was doing. I designed it myself. Wow! The difference between then and know is astounding.
Of course I probably should have waited until tomorrow given the MMMM's topic. Oh well. There is always more to learn.

This one slipped down the pages way too quickly. A bump for a friend.

Damn, Gabe!! How'd I miss this? Man, congrats on the post and you seriously do have words of wisdom. Never sell yourself short! You're on the journey with the rest of us. It wouldn't be nearly as much fun or rewarding without you there as well!
