Talking

Yesterday I was in a sporting goods store where the day before I had purchased a jump rope. The same clerk was there that helped me the prior day.
He told me that due to my "expertise" in jump ropes (blush, true thanks to IrishDazza) that he sold another rope later that same day to another customer. He told her that a guy (that would be me) was in earlier to buy a jump rope and showed her which one I purchased. He told her it must be a good rope because the guy that bought it was the fittest person he had ever seen. Man, I love comments like that from somebody that doesnt really have to say anything nice about you.

Just had to share a good experience!

Thanks my friends. My wife has got her digi now and eventually I'll get around to having her take some pics of me and I'll get them out here so you all can see what the heck the gymrat looks like.
Still lots of work to go, but I would definitly say I'm in the best shape of my life right now. I guess I had to hit bottom (or would that be an all-time high? 199lbs? yikes!)before I could really get motivated to kick some azz!

I saw a movie the other night with a cool saying. It was National Treasure. Nicholas Cage says that Thomas Edison failed over 2000 times trying to make the light bulb. When asked about it, he said "I never failed 2000 times, I learned 2000 ways not to make the light bulb."

Excellent. All the years I've never quite managed to get all the pieces together or if I had them all I didnt have them in the right places. Finally I'm getting it right. I havent failed before, I've learned what didnt work, and have adapted to what does. This is in great part to the knowledge I've learned right here on this site. Thank you all!

"Failure is the first step to true success"
Sorry I just wanted to post that even if it doesn't hold to the topic, it seemed so cool

..Well it kinda holds because you had to reach that 199pound mark to really find the real knowledge, just like it did for me and my 205 pounds. The quote has its truthes And I made it up myself while on the bad drinks. Yes I have bad habits

gymrat,
The compliments are nice, especially when they come from someone you don't even know. Just remember, you did the work. They just say the words. Great job, my man.

great job gymrat, i hope to one day be called "the fittest person alive"!

not to hijack or take anything away from you gymrat, but i thought this would be a good place to post the comment that i got from someone at the gym today.

so im at the gym and i ask this guy how many sets he has left on the squat rack and he says like 2. So i put my shake and log next to the rack and begin stretching nearby. After he's finished doing his sets he comes up to me and asks, "whats in the bottle" and i reply, "just a protein shake". he then says "will that stuff make me as big as you?". now seeing as how this guy was about 4 inches taller than me and not an ecto that made me feel pretty good, but then at the same time kind of worried because i wasnt sure if it was a genuine comment or this guy was hitting on me lol.
