I'm asking this question on behalf of a friend who does a LOT of running. He is training for his second 26 mile marathon...(I know that to some here...this aint no long run) ...but to me...I bow in his direction.

Anyway, when he first started training, he noticed that at some point the bottom of his feet would start to tingle and eventually to the point of hurting. I know someone will say...it's the shoes...but he has went to a specialty runners store and they fit him with the right shoes..so he's tried a couple of different pairs. the first pair he gave me...and I run in them with no prob. (course I only run for 20-30 minute stretch)

He has seen a doctor and the doc said he was running to far. Umm...time for a different doc?
Anyway, has anyone else here experienced this problem? Early in his training the sensation would begin like after just a few miles. Now that he is runnning 10-12 miles....the sensation doesn't begin till around 6 miles. Ideas?
