Red face

Hi: My name is Kim and I'm 48 y/o nurse, mother, homeschooling mom and wellness enthusiast. I am following WW points system and have lost 11.4 lbs in 8 visits. I feel I have hit my first "plateau" and was wondering if anyone out there has any extra advice on how to get through this time period. I wax and wane with drinking my water...some days I do VERY well, others, not so well. I have completely eliminated caffeine. I go to the gym and work on circuit training, precor, and yoga. I try to shoot for 3 days/week, sometimes it's more, sometimes less. Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated so I don't lose my momentum and drive to lose another 20 lbs.

Hi Kim,
Did you happen to notice the answers to your original thread? They may tell you a lot as to why you are plateauing now. Here is the link in case you missed it:

Sounds like it is time to get off that WW thing, eat 6 balanced meals a day, actually lift some weights with some intensity, and quit looking for shortcuts. This route is not popular because it is difficult, but other than that, the shortcuts that work at all are only temporary. You have to decide if it will strain your quality of life too much to make the necessary changes, and if it will then you simply need to accept what you have got. Sorry to be so direct. Have a great day!

Thumbs up

Hi Kim! I have to say that I agree with JP. There is no quick fix. Getting and staying in shape is a lifelong commitment and alot of hard work. If you haven't started working with a trainer you should think about talking with one. Trainers will oversee all aspects of your fitness program including helping you make healthy meal choises. Also, I would suggest to start reading more about weight training and educate yourself about what "fit" people do on a daily basis to stay that way.
Good luck!!
