Hey everyone! Just want to invite you to check out my teams new website. We are a group of 11 gals preparing to compete in the 2004 fitness circuit (all our venues are list on our page). All the girls pics and bios have been posted along with our monthly meal plans, training schedules and measurement. We are also posting diary entries so everyone can see the struggles and success we are having along the way. We are hoping to motivate and inspire others who have considered competing but are too afraid to try or don't think that they can.
All the girls are late 20's or early 30's and some of us including me are also MOMS
Check us out, sign the guest book and let us know what you think of our site! www.fitnessteambc.com
We are also looking for sponsorship $$$$ and have a package put together if anyone is interested in having us represent your product!
Thanks so much for your support! See my pics on the forum threw me off a bit... I didn't realize you could do that. I guess I am still just a techie virgin Anyways, very cool!!
Those pics were taken of me in the early spring to help promote my own personal training business. It is very hard on your body (especially for a woman) to have such low body fat but it was a great learning experience. Now I just have to pull it all together so when I walk out on stage I know what I am doing
You site is very well done and very professional. It looks like you have done well for yourself and your group of trainers. Its nice to see that personal training is no longer just something for people with the extra $$$ and that the public is beginning to realize all that we have to offer them. Its too bad that not all trainers hold themselves to such a high level of professionalism!
I will get our webmaster to link your site in our resource section and please go back in and sign the guestbook and register your site there as well! I finally got my kids to bed (toddlers are such a struggle)so I am going to browse through the other threads.
I see you have kids as well and also have difficulty managing time (there just isn't enough to do everything!!)
Hello,
Heard about this forum from Lisa. I am Linda Cusmano, founder and member of Team BC!
My bio is not quite up yet but soon!
Great site JP!!! Lisa's getting the word out on your site for all the gals to check out, she is also helping to bring awareness to Fitness Team BC site. Great little marketer this one!
Happy BC Day!!
Well, needless to say I checked out your profile and had one of those cartoon character moments where my eyes got a big as saucers and popped out of my head (did you see the mask... when Jim Carrey's character saw Cameron Diaz at that jazz club?)
Very nice to have you posting here. It is great to have some female perspective on the forum. I look forward to reading your questions/advice/comments/phot os!
Too funny All of this is so far out of my comfort zone you have no idea!! I was really happy how those pics turned out cause I worked and dieted really hard to show off my physique. Normally you can catch me in sweats, hair up and up to my eyeballs in diapers I enjoyed reading through the threads last night and even made a few posts. I am impressed with the level of knowledge of you guys... you really know what you are talking about. I even took a peek at (is it Bill??) Hartmans site and refered his page to one of the other girls on the team (her fiance is big time into golf). We are going into a long weekend here so I am gonna take a few days off and chill with my family!
Ah ha! Now I know who you, Lisa? remind me of, I looked at the pics and finally got it after posting something completely off-topic. You look like Suzanne Summers when she was a mom in that one sitcom series! <3 The name of the series is whats eluding me at the moment, but youre the buffer, read: more fit and cut, version. This is so cool!
Ill check out your site later on during the wkend, I just needed to get this lightbulb posted.
I still can't think of the name of that sitcom... hope you can come up with the name cause its driving me CRAZY
Thanks for the compliment and I hope you enjoy our site! We just had more pics taken for a calendar we hope to put out in the next while so keep checking back cause we will post them on the site as well.
Where abouts are you in the world?? Its amazing how small the world is now cause of the web
JP, I agree that shes hotter than SS, Im 21 and I was still like "wow" when you posted the pics. Thank god shes not pushing that stupid thigh master Do you happen to know the name of that sitcom? I still have no clue, but my mind is at rest now that the "who does she remind me of" thought was taken care of.
Btw: currently posting from Austin, TX

No thigh master here... I can't believe people bought those things!
Lots of squats, lunges etc for me... body weight exercises are key for my sport so I can haul my weight around I loved the article about varying pullups in one of the other threads. I hate doing these but am going to incorporate some of his suggestions. Try doing gymnastics for a couple of hours and then see how much your body is hurting the next day. Unlike any workout I have ever experienced
Thats great that youre doing real squatting, most women (and some men) squat on the smith machine with their feet 3 feet out so as not to hurt the knees Make sure to dealift! As my friend AG says "The world will be a much better place if everyone deadlifted." I used to be a gymnast, arent those routines soooooo fun?
My squats are huge now!! My one rep max is about 150lbs... which I think is pretty cool since I only weigh about 103 but I have been working at it for awhile. I always get a chuckle when I see the looks I get from guys as I am loading up the squat rack... you don't normally see a gal doing this, especially one as small as I am! As for the deadlifts, I do those too but I am having a bit of an issue with my left hamstring so I am babying it right now. I am seeing someone for deep tissue massage OUCH but it seems to be helping. I am just finding that the gymnastics is very demanding on my 30 year old body and since I have never done anything before beyond a cartwheel or somersault my body is screaming at me!! My background is all in dance but I would like to learn and incorporate some moves into my routine. I don't expect to be backhand springing across the stage but an ariel would be nice along with a strong handstand My strength holds are great right now so slowly but surely everything is comming together. I am glad I have given myself almost an entire year to prepare.
An old thread that I just ran across. Had a question for you Lisa, if you still visit this site. First of all, congrats on the great success you've had with your training -gives full-time moms everywhere motivation. I'm going to show your site, diet, and pics to my wife, also a mom of two, to get her motivated (or I may get hit; either way it'll serve a purpose ).
My questions concern your diet for Sept.:
-Why are you consuming so much tea? I would guess you were training for a competition and were talking it for its caffeine as well as diuretic effects, but was curious.
-what's the reason for the dandelion capsules?
PS: I had to look up the name of the show; I didn't watch it, but remembered Patrick Duffy (from Dallas fame) was the dad. It was 'Step by Step'.
I do still visit the site whenever I have the opportunity... you guys always have lots of interesting topics in your posts.
Regarding my Sept diet. This was actually the meal plan that I used last year to get into shape for the pics you see on our site. This is a competition ONLY diet because it is so UNHEALTHY! Most people don't realize that achieving such a low % of body fat really isn't a healthy thing to do to your body... although it looks great! Anyways when we were preparing to go to Vegas I was planning on duplicating this meal plan to "lean out". The trip was called off so I went back to just eating a healthy well balanced diet.
The tea and the dandelion are both dieretics... because we were not doing a "real" fitness competition I chose not to use them this time around.
Please don't get your wife following my competition diet!!
Hope it inspires her... we really are just a group of normal women with everyday lives and demands. Have her read my journal posts.. I try to keep them as real and honest as I can. This whole process has become so overwhelming. As much as I look forward to competition season and realizing my goals, I also look forward to a slower pace in the off season!

Thanks Lisa...it is inspiring. Reading your journal about how you owe your husband a lot to let you workout as soon as he comes in the door gives me a wakeup call. I work from home, so I see my kids throughout the day, and often help my wife with them or things that have to be done. But for the last 6 years, in exchange, she's allowed me to workout 5-6 days a week in the evenings. It is well past time to repay the favor.
Since she prefers to work out at home, and we have most of the requisite equipment, I gave her a routine from M&F Hers which she followed and loved for three months with good results. But then she became de-motivated (I even tried to hire a female PT to come to our house, but that didn't pan out). Time is the main issue during the week, but so is keeping continued motivation, which is hard for her as a full-time mom. The next time her 'fire is hot' for working out, I will give her the link to your site.
Also, if you know of any 'women-specific' programs outlined on the internet, I'd appreciate the information. Thanks!
